Northwestern 4A/3A Tournament Thread

    The brackets for the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference Tournament are set. Watauga (16-8 overall; 10-2 in the NW3A/4A), the regular-season co-champions and No.1 seed, will receive a bye in the opening round. The tournament begins Tuesday night with the higher seeds hosting games.

    South Caldwell, the No.2 seed, entertains the No.7 seed Hibriten; Alexander Central, the No.3 seed, takes on No.6 St. Stephens in Taylorsville; and the No.4 seed, Hickory entertains the No.5 seed Fred T. Foard.

    WHS will play the Hickory-Fred T. Foard winner Thursday afternoon at 4:30 pm. You can here that game starting at 4 pm on Oldies 100.7 FM.

    I think I predicted that upset today to a couple of people. Saint took out there frustration from Friday against Alexander.

    Who will Watauga see from Hickory? Heard Poole and Barnette threw against Foard..

    They played well but Alexander Central was terrible in the field. Dropped fly balls, botched ground balls, it was ugly. I don't want to take anything away from St Stephens, they played well. Indians hit the ball hard all night.

    AC may have shot themselves in the foot a few times, but the Indians had 18 hits. 18 HITS. I don't care how many errors you make, you won't win many games giving up 18 HITS.

    Saint earned this win big time.
