South Caldwell beats Wilkes Central 12 - 0 in 5 inning mercy rule. Madison Bumgarner with another HR. Teams have been intentionally walking him or he may even have more HRs. South improves to 17 - 0 on the season. Also South has now outscored their opponents 155 - 20 on the season. Madison has pitched a total of 35.67 Innings with a 7-0 record, an ERA = 0.20 allowing a single run the entire season. He was recently tracked with a speed = 98 MPH by Scout and consistently threw in the mid 90's the entire game. Stats are the courtesy of Caldwellbaseball.com

Here is a rundown from a Rocket fan about the game from the ACR message boards. Sounds like it got a little messy with all the rain!

    "WOW - YUK - AWESOME - YUK -

Take you pick of the above. Either one will pretty much sum up last nights game with Watauga. Boone's one of those places that if you don't like the weather - stick around - it'll change in a minute. And boy did it!

Evening started out with a "balmy" 65 degs. not a bad nite for a ball game. Hinson (as usual) started game off with a blast with a shot to his dad in center field (what - no hat trick) WTG! But not to be showed up - Durner followed suit. OOPS - next go around - Hinson repeated - Not to be outdone - Durner once again had to copy him. Then came the inning of all innings. Before it was over (would we ever get out of that inning) Durner knocked his 3rd H/R - but wait - not just a H/R but a grandslam for a total of 9 RBI's for the night - and then in Pap style - Kyle got him one too! By the end of the 4th Rockets were up 19 - 0. But oh no - we have to play 5 for a full game. Then those black clouds rolled in. Bringing high winds (sent the Watauga fans running) hard rain, and a total mess. Remember - we're still playing - we don't want to have to return to play over - Bergrun had a 3B and a RBI making it 20 - 0. But wait - we still have to play. Field got a total mess - mound nothing but a wet clay mound. Even the quick dry wouldn't help. It was all Howell could do to pick his feet up - clothes were soaking wet - before it was over Watauga had scored 8 - finally Howell closes it with a final score of 20 - 8. Not bad for a night up in the clouds! Just not right that Howell has to face that 5th - Mother nature just didn't play fair! WTG Rockets!!!!!"
