    the achs /east surry game that was called off this week , will be made up on monday may 1st at central park at 5 and 7.

    Freedom- Alexander

    Freedom defeats A.C. tonight for the first time in school history! 1-0 behind the pitching of Junior Kaylee Davis (6 hits) excellent defense by the Patriots. Freedom scored 1 in the 4th when Davis lead off with a single to CF, sac bunt by Grady, a single loaded the bases. AC's catcher ties to pick of Davis on third and the ball went into LF allowing Davis to score.
    AC left 13 runners on base and the bases loaded 3 times. Freedom's 2B made a great backhand and flipped to the SS in the 6th on a sharp ground ball by Pierce. In the 7th Johnson grounded out #4 hitter walked but was erased by McKee's nice play to second. Coach Fox put Walker on when the count reaced 3-1 with the tying run on second. Freedom's catcher Grady picked off the runner on first on an 0-1 count- the play was very close but the field umpire called her out- not sure but the kid was way oof the bag- gutsy play and a great game by both teams.

    Freedom is now 15-6 overall and 6-4 in conference. Freedom is @ McDowell on Tuesday and @ East Burke on Thursday/Friday.

    Interesting?

    With the South win over McDowell and the Freedom win over Alexander that makes a 3 way tie for 2nd with McDowell,Freedom, and Alexander. ACR is alone at the top with 3 losses.

    Freedom is @ McDowell on Tuesday and @ East Burke on Friday.
    McDowell has Freedom and Reynolds @ home
    Reynolds @ South on Tuesday and @ McDowell on Friday
    Alexander has Watauga and South @ home.

    very interesting final week of softball.

    anybody know conference standings??


    now that mcdowell has lost and ac lost these next 2 games should be pretty interesting!!! WAY TO GO FHS ON YOUR WIN AGAINST AC!!!!
    i was there and it looks like there is a lot of support for the patriots in morganton tonight.... cant wait to see who comes out on top in the end!!!

    Actually, Watauga and Alexander switched their games this year, so the game next Tuesday is at Watauga. JV at 5 and the varsity second.
