    Cold hitting night in Morganton

A lot of 0-3's in the lineup last night for Freedom. But enough offense to win and they are now 4-0. Asheville caught every ball hit the Patriots hit.
Asheville may have been terrible in the past but they are much improved. Harrell was 2-3, Ellis was 0-1 with 2 walks and 2 runs, Grady was 2-3. Davis,McKee,Conley hit the ball HARD! Just right t the Cougars. I'm sure Coach Fox isn't happy but you have to be happy when you are Freedom and you're record is 4-0.

Fred T Foard comes to town tonight. 4:30-6:30 JV-V

It was throwing errors on both sides of the ball that scored runs. Both team had two errors apiece that produced the runs. Also, big props to Brooke Ellis...While going after a fly ball, she takes a big crash into the fence and took one on the face. But she's a player...she gets back up and continues.

    Anyone know anything about Foard?

I didin't get to the game but did talk to one of the coaches. His report to me was this. Starnes pitched a 2 hitter. One was a ball that rolled 3 feet in front of home plate and the other was a bloop over shortstop which was the only ball out of the infield. He didn't have a count on k's but said she struck out most of the batters she faced. Catcher Emily Beck hit her first home run of the year. Also Junoir Brittney Biggs hit her first home run tonight also. Starnes added a triple and Kristen Hobbs had a good game on both sides of the ball

Freedom wins after coming back from a 2-0 deficit. Ali Ford, Kaylee Davis, and Jasmine Conley gave key hits to pull the Lady Patriots back into the game and into the lead. Maleah Ramsey won the pitching decision and looked sharp. Freedom travels to Spartanburg, SC to face off against Dorman in a doubleheader, but is back in action at The New Freedom Park on Wednesday against Hickory.

    Freedom-Foard

Freedom played a good solid game against a good pitcher and good team. Maria Chalk for Foard throws the ball hard and has a lot of movement she's going to be good . Freedom played small ball and hit the ball very hard several times. They will have to play like that to compete against AC Reynolds and Watauga's pitching- It seems like Starnes is throwing it well also for South, and then there's always that stud Pierce at Central-

Freedom travels to play Dorman South Carolina on Saturday- Hickory on Wednesday and then travel to Watauga for a key conference matchup.
