achs lets the wind out of freedoms sail with a big 7-0 win! pierce had 8 k`s and gave up a infield hit off her glove . freedom never got the ball out of the infield! she also had 3 hits and 3 rbi`s! the cougars jv had to come from behind to get a 5-3 win. ashleigh willamson had 14 k`s ! megan laxton had 3 hits! both of the freedom teams are so improved! now lets see if the fans can catch up!

I will chime in on the fans and coach. It's one thing to holler and scream swing at every pitch but to direct things at the players and call out their names as they are batting is CLASSLESS. And how about your coach hollering out for his players to put it into AC player's rib when she got a big hit. You are lucky this didn't escalate as 4 of your male students screamed and hollered and jumped up and down on a picnic table the whole game at our players. Be alot better to see those doing this type of thing to cheer for their team and not become a spectacle at the game.:banned: The Freedom players was nothing but respectful and zoned in on playing their best just hope the coach can teach some of the fans to be more respectful. Your program will be overlooked by other teams when it comes time to ask for games. Coaches will only put their players through that type of hooplah once. Remember that when you are begging for nonconference games in the future. And good luck to the Lady Patriots in the rest of your season.

ACFAN, I believe freedom will mature over time if there team continues to improve. Winning is a new thing to freedom softball, and they may be a liitle to excited about the whole thing. I would imagine if AC football were to ever have a chance at the con. crown AC fans may behave in a like manner to freedom softball. Just take a peek at Deal on the sidelines.
    Just my thoughts!

Anyone know what the league lead is on homeruns this year? There have been several hit by different people.

You're right cougar man. I think if any softball teams start thinking they are the latest greatest should have to play Central, Butler, Kings Mt. or teams of that caliber to get a reality check. I say enjoy your team and the winning because it is fun just don't get carried away.

Despite the scoreboard at ACHS/FHS, all in all, a good game.

Emily Pierce (who, by the way, is a super nice young lady!) took control early and backed by ACHS solid defensive play, FHS could just not seem to get back in the groove after going down 3-0 in the first.

If you attended or review the books, both teams worked hard, and in my opinion, the game lived up to all the pre-game hype. Both teams played the game honorably and respectfully, which is all that matters anyway.

With that said, now on to, in my opinion, all the nonsense about the fans. Although I do not agree with most it, “heckling” has been a part of this game since its inception and will, unfortunately, be with us until the very end. I’m baffled when I see two very good teams play, just as they did last night, and it seems the primary focus is on who yelled the loudest in the grandstands. Who cares! In my opinion, the primary objective is to see the players mature and that the young women on the field continue to participate with the same integrity that I have witnessed countless times over many, many years. If you notice, well coached teams have been trained to ignore what goes on outside the playing field. Last nights game is a good example of how two very well coached teams pay no attention to the “fans” anyway. Way to go ACHS & FHS players!
