Haha no offense taken here. My kid gets to play ball AND get an education at a great private D2 college 45 minutes away from home and I'm happier than a pig in slop. She definitely wouldn't trade her D2 choice for the D1 30 minutes down the road in the other direction. So you men just have at it about D1 vs D2, there are those of us that are just thrilled our kid is getting a wonderful education that we otherwise wouldn't be able to afford:woohoo:.

    100% Correct

There are lots of D2 players (and D3) who could be playing D1 ball. Every family needs to decide the best academic and athletic situation. My only point is that you can't really compare stats, especially batting averages, across divisions. Even among D1 teams statistical comparisons are spurious unless the numbers generated against similar schedules.

I am not taking anyone down or up, but here is the difference in D2, NAIA, etc teams and the legit D1 teams in most NCAA sports:

The elite of the NAIA, D2, etc could hang in D1 and be regulars- if not succeed. But your average typical player in those divsions would struggle physically in D1 sports.

Here is my question...why the hell would Pembroke put that big "UNC" on their unis? Brutal. I would respect them more at Pembroke St vs UNCP.

    Technically that's true but . . .

If you check out this schedule from 2007 you'll see they were still playing a lot of D2 schools. Central's record that year was 3-48. Honestly, they should have stayed D2.

....is the best hitter I've seen in HS. JMO. Now, if you want to compare college stats, then go to the web pages of JSU, Va. Tech, Tenn., NCSU, UNC. ..........yep
Or go to the sites for D2, and D3, and CC gigs as well.

In the end you'll see that most of our NC kids are doing well in college and we can't ask much more from them than that.

Go NC fastpitch at all levels.

Also keeping in mind that all D1 schools are not created equal as well as DII schools. There are a lot of DII schools that are better programs than some D1 schools. My DD as an example is DII but has hit very well against Georgia, NC State, Louisville and don't forget these DII and D1 kids played against one another in travel ball and hit very well against subsequent D1 pitchers including Dukedogs awesome DD as well. Just another thought. It's all good though.

Holley is a good kid that can play......anywhere.

No reason to question where she plays...
