    More Rules?

I agree. Sportsmanship should be a priority. The Umpires say that almost verbatim in the meeting at the plate prior to every game. It's their job to control that and I think most of them do. True, this year, as every year, we have had players run their mouths on the field to fans and opposing players and coaches. We have had head coaches and assistant coaches say and do things that should never take place in the presence of impressionable young men. We have had parents make inappropriate comments from the stands. We have had actual parents of coaches banned from certain fields for behavior unbecoming and unbelievable. All of this is unfortunate and it should be constantly discussed and addressed by each and every program in the state.

But after the first pitch, this is to be regulated by the umpires. It's their job. They get paid more per game than anyone in the park. They can spot the left fielder wearing a flesh-colored fight bracelet from behind the plate in the middle of an inning and can quote rule 5.40-3d word for word as soon as the sprinklers engage unexpectedly in the middle of a pitch. They can sense lightning from 25 miles away.

Why do we need the NCHSAA to pass more rules attempting to dictate how people should act? They are in place. Most people know how to act. Some are still going to be morons. But to attempt to micro-legislate behavior and personality at the NCHSAA level, unless it is of an obviously profane and inapprpriate nature (which is already addressed by rule), is only asking for trouble. High School baseball is against the ropes enough as it is right now.

And the hits just keep on coming...

By the way, is there any other kind of parent besides an actual one? Does whether he is a parent "of a coach" or not affect the status of actual versus virtual?

Man, it would stink to have a virtual parent - even if he were nice and sweet and polite all the time, and wore green and black outfits.

Yeh, my actual one needs work on some things. See, he's not actually perfect. But even with the work he needs, I thank God for my actual one - flaws and all.

I love it when a coach from one area needles another coach from the same area...and he doesn't know it :kid:

    Happy Father's Day!

    Oh, I think it's known.

However, I would probably do well to APOLOGIZE to anyone in "black and green". Those are the colors of the school where the "actual parent of a coach" was banned - but I'm certain that the coach of the black and green would NEVER have made such a comment. That particular cowboy is an absolute, above-board gentleman. My apologies if what I have alluded to offended any off of Barrow Rd. in Greensboro. Truly, I apologize.

As for apology to anyone wearing red and riding ponies over on the corner of Peters Creek and Brewer Rd...

Now, tell me Braves, have I shown enough investigative acumen to be on the NCIS team with Gibbs?

I'm impressed. I can't speak for NCIS, but you can join the TBR team's investigative branch. The pays not great, but the benefits make up for it! :N1respectHL:

I think Kyle Busch could use Goober & Gomer on his pit crew myself. & Wally ought to come off of some of that filling station money & sponsor a car.

Yesterday I was told by a coach on staff, who has ties to Childress racing, that they have received calls/contacts offering somewhere in the neighborhood of $120,000 in donations to pay the fine for Childress. They of course refused and have urged those willing to instead send monies to various charities. One caller supposedly offered $10,000. (Could all be grand rumor.)

Now, that is either a lot of love for RC, or a lot of hate for KB.
