NPC 08 Predictions

Anybody want to weigh in on the NPC 2008 predictions. Mooresville, Lake Norman, Statesville, West Iredell, West Rowan, NW Cabarrus, North Iredell, and the newest members East Rowan and South Rowan. Your thoughts...

NPC---Rowan County

Good read below in today's Salisbury Post. Gives some insight to the NPC. I would like to see the East Rowan vs. North Davidson game.

Good pitching at Mooresville, NW Cabarrus and Lake Norman,,, and of course you can never count out West Rowan,,, however, this year East Rowan simply has too much for the rest of the league.

Should be some great baseball in this league for the fans.

 

Mooresville lost 1 starting senior from last year. Chris Beaver(James Madison, football) is throwing great after being hurt most of last year. Aubrey Meadows (UNCC) will anchor the rotation with Beaver #2. Look for a healthy bullpen if they get used. Aaron Meadows (Aubreys Jr. brother) will close and can start in some situations. Don't count these guys out. They will battle hard. Also the JV team is absolutely stacked this year and should provide some good backup for varsity.

Rumor has it Lake Norman is also is short on catching at Varsity with slated starting catcher moving out of state and backup running track.

 

Rowan county teams

The NPC competition just rose higher. East Rowan will be for real. Good luck playing there. Roland and company can play. Don't underestimate South Rowan. They always play tough. Good luck to all!

 

Any news on Settle for Mooresville, he tore his ACL during football season so if he is out then there will be two starting positions open on Varsity.

 

Settle is practicing and taking infield and BP. Don't look for him to start until April. He is doing good without any limps. Taking it easy right now. Think he is released on April 1st. 36 Players made the cut, 18 on each team although varsity can stack it up come playoff time. There still might be some questions though with some of the sophmores maybe sliding in over some juniors and seniors.

I agree with you FortheLoveofTheGame. Mooresville Varsity 1,2 and 3 starters looking good and the bullpen is excellent with Bonaventure and Double AA coming in. Bonaventure and Double AA should also get some starts IMO.
