Hightower is one of the best coaches I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He not only plays every game to win, but every pitch to win...He is very intense and gets the best out of his players....Hat Off To Hightower.

Anybody that was at the East-Carson game last year in the playoffs and saw Hightower come running down the line yelling "Lodged Ball" at the end of the game knows that he is aware of every single situation on the ballfield and his kids usually play the same way.

Heres the Salisbury Post story to this crazy ending:

...hmm, may need to rethink who the favorite is...

According to today's Salisbury Post, Charlotte signee Justin Roland (normally the ss) will pitch against Mooresville on Friday because East Rowan is apparently having injury problems on the mound. Starting pitcher Kent Basinger's knee just buckled while he was on the mound in a game yesterday and he was transported to the hospital via ambulance. Trey Holmes and Corbin Shive are just now getting into shape and only threw their first bullpen of the year this past Monday.

Obviously, early season advantage goes to the team with best pitching which appears to be Mooresville afterall. Hopefully the Basinger kid will be ok and these other guys all get back on the playing field soon.
