The pitcher from North Iredell that was injured last year is Aaron Johnson. He struck out 13 in 7 innings yesterday in an extra-innings loss to South Rowan. If I'm not mistaken he struck out 13 against a powerful NW Cabarrus line-up last year before he went down to injury.

Mooresville beat NWC, who had Overcash on the hill, today 4-3 on the arm of Aubrey Meadows, it appears he found his stuff again, Mooresville is 3-0 when he starts, and 0-3 when Beaver pitches, Meadows has thrown two complete games this year both 4-3 wins and he also threw five innings and beat Salisbury.

Aubrey came on the scene in a big way as a freshman but dropped off a little as a sophomore.

It's good to see him back to his old form; an early All-Conference candidate to be certain. :ylsuper:

As for Mr. Beaver being 0-3:
    1. I'm sure he will bounce back. He has a great arm.
    2. I can't speak for Braves or any of the other TBR moderators but I would suggest that our posts concerning all of these young men who play the game be limited to focusing on the positive rather than the negative. Many of these young men are working hard to be seen by college scouts and this forum should be utilized to help them achieve a place in college baseball. (sorry if I misread your post but this is kind of a sore subject with me)

I understand, it isn't necessarily Beaver, he just struggled recently getting his deuce across, but he rarely gets any run support.

    Game08 -

Again, I apologize for misreading your post (I've been misunderstood on this board a few times myself).

Anyhow, please keep us up to date on the Devils this year. The NPC should be wide open this year and Mooresville has an excellent chance of taking the crown. Good luck to you, Mr. Beaver, Mr. Meadows (and all of the other baseball Meadows) and the Blue Devils.

It's ok I was pretty blunt with my post, I was more trying to point out the irony in your mentioning of Beaver and not Meadows as a "Pitcher to Watch", also for the record Beaver is 0-0 I believe, let me think......

Central Cabarrus: Great outing four or five innings with no runs left with a 1-0 lead, but the pen gave up three, ND

St. Stephen's: Looked great the first two innings, the visiting devils had a >30 minute at bat, and Beaver was never the same, I believe left with a 7-4 lead after 2.2 innings, but didnt throw enough innings to qualify for the win even if the Devils would've held on, ND

Cherryville: Aubrey's brother Aaron Meadows started and threw five strong, gave up two runs, Beaver gave up 7 in .2 innings, not sure how many were earned, two errors behind him I think, this is where he started struggling with his deuce, he was throwing >75% fastballs, and Cherryville just kept poking little bloop singles, ND

yeah 0-0, I hope he can pull it together. Mooresville needs his arm if they wanna make a run for conference, they have to be the most inconsistent team in the state, but they probably have one of the youngest lineups too, with only one senior playing everyday.

Yes, you can speak for me any time, NPC Fanatic. As a long time member of this board, you know exactly what we are trying to do.

Glad to see that you guys are in agreement.

Mooresville needs a team leader. As soon as some one steps up they will be alright. Like you said they are a young team.

Does anyone know the outcome of Mooresville vs. West Rowan tonight?
NP3-A is pretty close at the top.

MOORESVILLE — A handful of come-from-behind wins have helped Mooresville's baseball team move atop the North Piedmont Conference standings.

The Blue Devils needed another such game Friday night to remain as the NPC's front-runner, rallying from an early deficit to beat West Rowan 4-2.

Even though Mooresville (8-4, 6-0) managed just three hits against the Falcons (6-7,

3-3), the Blue Devils made all of them count in overcoming a ragged start to pull 1 1/2 games ahead of Northwest Cabarrus in the league standings.
