It's hard for me to make the afternoon games, being in Raleigh. Hopefully I can get down that way for some night games later on. It is a 4:30 start.

 

Mooresville gets back on the winning end and beat Cherryville 9-5. I.Walters pitched5 2/3 Giving up 5 runs but not much help from his guys in the field. C.Bonaventure came in a finished the game. Pitching 1 2/3 striking out one and no hits, no walks,no runs.

Johnson is a jv who did well but couldnt catch some breaks.

From what I heard about the Lake Norman vs East Rowan game is that Lake Norman got robbed. A balk call on a play at first that the umpire called out and then was overruled after Hightower raised some cain. This was the 3rd out and would have resulted in a Lake Norman victory. I was not there but have heard some details. Anyone want to fill us in from both the Lake Norman and East Rowan Sides.

Does this mean that a balk was not called by the umpires until the coach came out and argued that the kid had balked? Strange to say the least.

 

I'm confused about the balk as well. Wasn't at the game, but East won by 5 runs.

 

The runner was originally picked off by the left handed pitcher. Hightower then made his point clear that the pitcher front foot came to far towards home plate and was over ruled by both umps after they discussed it. This was in the the 4th inning i believe and East did win by 5 runs.

Sounds like the umps got talked into this one IF neither of them originally called the balk.
