I saw Mars Hill, Lenoir Rhyne, and UNC-Charlotte, and I think I saw another school from way far off. I can't remember who it was?

Not to take anything away from the Sting But i believe the final game was 4 to 3 against the Attitude The Sting had a 3 run HR More of a Dogfight than a Walk Through Congrats to the Little TUDES going 5 and 1 for the weekend Not bad for a true 1st year 14U team And Best of Luck to the the Sting in Florida

The championship game against the Attitude was definitely a nail biting great game. The Attitude is a great team with great pitching and hitting. Not to leave out the "younger" Attitude, although they play like an older 14U team and maybe a 16U team as they proved this weekend by only losing two games. They also are a great team with a lot of great young talent and coahing. A lot of respect for them!! Best of luck to them in the NSA World Series. I am sure they will go far. As for the Sting, we are off to Florida to hopefully win the Fast Nationals. GO STING!!:mickey:

    Tournament Success

This was our 6th year of co-hosting with NSA on the Summer Showcase. It's a unique tournament in that we (NSR scouts) conduct a combine for the kids, NSA names an All-Tournament Team selected by opposing coaches, score keepers and umpires (each ATT kid gets a very nice T-shirt designating them as such), and at the end of the event we (NSR) send the info on every kid in the tournament to over 100 regional college softball coaches including their name, size, high school, graduation year, GPA and combine results. That means regardless of how many coaches attend, the kids will get a good deal of regional exposure. Any coach wanting contact info, though, must ask for it specifically through us to maintain the player's privacy.

There were 29 teams from five states and talking to college coaches who attended, the talent was excellent. It gave them a chance to see prospects other than the ones they might typically see week after week at other showcases or qualifiers around the region. While most of the higher profile teams were at a competing tournament in Burlington, or in Colorado, NC was very well represented according to the coaches there. And, the talent from VA, TN, GA and SC was top-notch. The Hampton Roads Vipers had kids hitting bombs and several pitchers at the combine were throwing over 62 MPH. Good speed and pop times as well.

We appreciate the good job that Howard Edwards and his team, particularly Amanda Johnson, did to make this another very nice event. IT doesn't get all the hype that others might, but year in and year out, it has proven to be a terrific event. To see the All-Tournament Team, go to http://www.ncnsasoftball.net/ and click on NSA/NSR Highlights.

We run the same format for the NSA/NSR Fall Talent Search in October and hope that teams out there will seriously consider signing on. Your kids will have fun and get genuine exposure to a lot of coaches.
