Magic 10u is on a roll!!!! :ylsuper:

    From this mornings Charlotte Observer:

ROCK HILL - Their team name says all you need to know: "Magic". Friday afternoon, the 10-year-old girls from Charlotte used all their special powers to take down one of top teams in the state and archival Xtreme of Salisbury, 8-5, in a thrilling comeback in the quarterfinals of NSA Girls' World Series.

Down 5-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Magic scored seven runs in that inning and never looked back. Eleven Magic batters came to the plate in the sixth, and seven of eight base runners scored.

"Usually, it only takes one hit for a 10-year-old girl to get excited," said Magic assistant coach Chuck Peacock, whose team didn't score until the bottom of the fifth. "We've been in this situation before, but this win is a little more special, being in the World Series and against one of our biggest rivals."

The Magic (44-14), winners of the AAU Nationals Championship in Concord, became the only North Carolina-based team to make the semifinals of the tournament of the winner's bracket in all five age groups.

Several teams, including the Xtreme, could still make the finals through the loser's bracket.

You played as a team, you won and lost as a team.
You all contributed your special gift to the team effort and we are proud of your success!
Good luck to all of you going off to college! We have enjoyed watching you play!

Congratulation to both the CV Storm, and the Carolina Copperheads for their outstanding showings in the World's. Copperheads took 7th place, being knocked out by the Pittsburgh Spirit on Friday.

One correction on the Copperheads game vs. the Indiana Blaze. The Copperheads lost 3 to 1, and not 3 to 0 as originally posted on this website.

With regard to head to head competition, the Copperheads and CV Storm have only met once this season, with the Copperheads coming out on top in that meeting, 11 to 2.

Anyone know where the 2006 World's will be played??
