    OK I will go first.

    1.East Burke (I believe)
2.AC Reynolds (10 starters back on defense)
    3.Watauga
    4.Freedom
    5.Alexander Central
    6.South Caldwell
    7.McDowell

I really think 1 thru 4 can be up for grabs. I can't wait.

    Looks about right...

McDowell will be the only team to not make the playoffs.

Lets pull them out of a hat

East Burke- Shatley is bigger and stronger look out
AC Reynolds- AC will be good as always 1 and 2 could go either way
Freedom- These guys have a ton of speed and will be ready
    Alexander Central
    Watauga
    South Caldwell
    McDowell

I think 3,4 and 5 could be a toss up but this is my take on it.

I've hear that AC reynolds is loaded but had no idea they could be that good.

AC Reynolds will be the team to beat by a lot in 2008. They should be about as good as they have ever been based on what is coming back. The rest of league has question marks.

    2. East Burke...Not fancy but strong up front and a tank at fullback
    3. Alexander Central...Big improvement in 2008
    4. Freedom...They could surprise a lot of folks
    5. Watauga...Life after EB
    6. McDowell...New Coach and new attitude
    7. South Caldwell...Carter is a heck of a coach but this will not be a good year.

After AC Reynolds it's a crap shoot. Don't forget this is the last year for this league as it is comprised now.

Here are my conference picks in order...

AC Reynolds...they're obviously loaded on defense. Can they do enough offensively to make a deep 4A playoff run?

East Burke...The Cavaliers had a great year last year and a stud in Shatley. They did lose some key players to graduation. Just by watching their Jayvees last year, it looked like those gap would be filled in. The big question for this year is that...How will the addition of Draughn High School affect the depth of East Burke? How many of those JV's last year go to Draughn and how many stayed? I don't have the answer to those questions (maybe you East Burke guys can give some insight) but it could have a big effect on the season.

From this point, the conference could go in a matter of different directions. I will give Watauga the benefit of a doubt and pick them third. Freedom, Alexander Central, McDowell and South Caldwell will wrap up the bottom half. Again...AC, Freedom and Watauga could each finish anywhere from 3rd to 5th. I am really happy with what I see so far in a week's worth of work at McDowell. As was stated in another thread the Titans will be a young squad. First year coach Carson Gowan is establishing his style of football. I look for this group to actually improve as the year goes on. I pick the Titans in 6th because I think they'll steal a game or two away from someone in conference. South brings up the rear, they'll play hard and give it their all. They like McDowell will just have some games that they'll be out-matched.
