Great story,Ali is a great player. I hope she gets her dream to become a tar heel. I know when she played at McDowell there was a tar heel scout in the stands. She had came to see Washington play but Ali put on a show that night. I know the heels will be watching her.

Kurie showed tonight why she should be player of the year in the NW4A.

The first two matchups were pretty much even, but after tonight I would have to agree...

I will say my POY after the tournament.

    1st Team

    Kurie Washington - McDowell
    Ebonique Hamilton - McDowell
    Elizabeth Ross - East Burke
    Ali Ford - Freedom
    Kristen Hobbs - South Caldwell

    2nd Team

    Kelsea Greene - McDowell
    Amanda Whitaker - AC Reynolds
    Brianna Morrision - Freedom
    Whitney Brinkley - AC Reynolds
    Paris Brown - Watauga

I don't know how anyone can legitimatly put Emily Pineda over Paris Brown for WHS. Paris has had her issues but she is the only person averaging double figures at WHS. Coming from a guy who has seen every WHS game this year minus at Ashe and South Caldwell.

Lets look at both of their numbers. Paris Brown, 10 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 127 Reb total, 54 steals, and 11 blocks. Emily Pineda, 5.8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 74 Reb total, 13 steals, and 4 blocks.

People forget Emily didn't play until January too. I can see you legitmatly leaving them both off. But you cannot put Emily as the lone rep. No disrespect to her.

Having seen every game of the year and being around the team, I too would have Emily on the all-confernce team. Like you said she did not play the 1st 11 games of the year. Of course her season stats are going to be less than a player that played every game. It takes a little while to get back to form after a serious injury. Not only does Emily have decent stats, she brings so much more to the team.. She is by FAR the hardest worker, best leader (by example), and has more heart than any other player on the team.

Paris could have been one of the best players that had ever put on a Watauga jersey. But her effort and attitude killed her and will do so in the future if the coach allows it or if she doesn't change.

With Emily at full strength, I would take her anyday of the week before Paris!! JMO

I would too, but she was not at full stregth most of the season. She fights and works hard. Next year should be a banner year with her at 100%.

Of course her total stats are going to be less but her per game averages should be better.

Ohh I totally agree that she is one of the best players by example on the team. She is a fine young lady.

Awesome story on Kurie Washington in the Charlotte Observer today. Find it at charlotteobserver.com. I couldn't get the link to work. Bigdan maybe you can get the link.

    Emily vs. Paris

All-Conference should be for conference games. How many games did Emily miss? 2? 3? Throw out the non-conference games, what was Paris' average?

Take a Pineda on the basis of team value.
