Was the officiating as bad as normal there?

I'm not going to say it was bad, but in the Varsity game we fouled a player and they counted his basket and gave him 1 shot......AND THE BALL DIDN'T EVEN GO IN THE BASKET! We knew it was going to be a LONG night then.

The officiating at Watauga always provides spectators with "new interpretations" on current rules.

Be careful of pigeon-holing a certain arena.... Several people have that same opinion about every arena in the NW4A..... Granted, the officiating at Watauga was probably the worst I have seen in my 18 years in basketball (in Varsity game), but it wasn't just because it was at Watauga. I have seen those 3 not exactly shine at other places. :newsmile39:

I saw that play where they gave the Watauga kid the basket. That is pretty bad when 3 officials miss that. The players even knew it. They were standing there after he hit his free throw waiting for the officials to give him his second shot. Very strange.... Very Strange... Give the ACR kids credit, they fought back and played well. I thought it was a fun game to watch. Clement had a subpar 1st 2.5 quarters then started to heat up but it was just a little too late. Should be a great rematch in Asheville later.

    Have a great week all.

The varsity games were a joke. Half the time the refs didn't know how many shots the person had. However I will say they were not favoring either team. They were bad across the board.

Yeah, that is why ACR had 7 team fouls (3 on our center Eby, and 2 on DJ Clement) 3 minutes into the game compared to WHS 1.

Yeah but that was because Watauga was driving to the basket and drawing the fouls. Notice that in the 3rd quarter the difference was 9-2 in favor of ACR? It all depends on the team that attacks the hoop. There going to draw more fouls.
