    McDowell 69 East Rutherford 60

East threw everything but the kitchen sink in a very rough game, but the Lady Titans led wire to wire. If these ladies go to Roberson and pull out a victory, I think you have to consider them contenders?

Congrats ladies on a fine effort! :woohoo:

found out after the game that East Rutherford shot 7 of 40 from the 3 point line...they're a team that keeps firing them up reguardless of how well they are shooting. I'm sure they'll use that as an excuse for their loss. On the otherhand, if it wasn't for the eight consecutive missed free throws by McDowell late in the game, it could have been a much wider margin of victory.

Lady Titans now 6-3 (1-0 conf.) and on a four game winning streak. Looks like that 36 point embarassment at home to Providence Day served as a major wake-up call for the Lady Titans.

Big Dan, as we both know, most of those 3 pointers were rushed and too far out to be considered good shots, so it's the coach's fault for letting them throw it up. I guess I would credit the defense for not letting the big girls establish the inside? Free throws always seem to be a stuggle for the Lady Titans except for a few games here and there.

I think that is the right score. I do know SC won by 19 points. Even with a 19 point win at East Burke the Lady Spartans didn't play real well. To many unforced turnovers and to many fouls. One good thing throughout the last few games is that it seems someone different carries the team each night. Lakey one night then Hobbs the next then Kidd and tonight Hawkins. The team is well balanced and if they ever come together and gell with a balanced scoring attack they will be tough

59-49 was the correct score. WHS hung in there. One stretch in the 3rd quarter gave Freedom the edge. Good showing by the Pioneers though. They are starting to play a little bit now. Ali Ford was unbelievable. i think she ended up with 29 pts. She could possible win player of the year as a freshman!!

Good game by both teams. It was fun to watch.
