If you weren't at the game you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. The defense she played on here was very good! Once the game was decided Thompson no longer defended Ford (most of the 4th) and that was when alot of the scoring was done.

Ford had 9 in the 4th quarter and 6 of those were scored on Thompson. I will say that Thompson limited Ali's chances from the 3pt line.

She did limit the 3 point opportunities and other shots. Thompson is taller and that helped a lot, as well as the interior players helping on drives.

I was impressed with Thompson's defense, and as I was sitting near a Reynold's fan, we had a brief conversation about Kurie Washington. He had not seen Kurie, but figured this same thing might happen.

It might happen, but Washington is a totally different type player, much stronger physically. It will be interesting to see if Thompson can put the "glove" on Kurie without fouling?

So by that math 3 were scored on someone other then Thompson? I remember 2 shots Ford hit in the 4th while Thompson was on the bench, so I don't think that is correct. But whatever the case may be, heck she could have scored 30 on Thompson for all I care, lets just say Thompson did her job and ACR did what they had to do to win. It may not be pretty, and ACR may not dominate teams or blow people away but they keep winning, and as long as they do that, I'm happy!

    week 7 picks

    Friday Jan 6:

East Burke 48 @ McDowell 81 I believe this is a thursday game
South Caldwell 52 @ Freedom 54 this one could be a blowout if Ford gets some help.

Watauga 44 @ AC Reynolds 64 No contest here the lady rockets have the total package this year.

I'm gonna try to pick the rest of the season just for the fun of it.

You are correct!- just as long as you win is what matters. Good luck tonight- Let's see if Freedom can take care of South and the former Patriot Kristen Kidd. Should be a very intense game with alot of emotion for the Lady Pats. Very important game for both teams.

I agree with fhs bbl. Should be an intresting game. I hope at least Freedom Fans are not too hard on Kidd. Just remember teenagers have feelings to. This game may hinge on which team shows up for SC. They could blow out Freedom or they could lose as SC has not been real consistant this year. At times they have been VERY GOOD. At other times they have not looked good at all. I won't get to make the game tonight so someone place post details tonight.

    Watauga 32

Rocket reserves played most of this one. As the starters saw limited action in each of the 4 quarters.

I think that was the final. I do know SC won by 2.
Wow where to begin. Before the game SC finds out they are to be without their fastest player who is also one of their leading scores in Shana Church. She had became very sick during the day and though she was at the game unable to play. This team is not deep at all and had to start a freshman with very little experience. she still did a good job. The game was close the whole time. SC is much better than Freedom and out played them but just like Tuesday night missed so many easy shots it was ridiculous. They should have won by 20 or more. If their shooting doesn't pick up the will get spanked at Mcdowell Tuesday.
As for this game the end was bizzare. SC is down 1 and have the ball out of bounds under their own basket with 3.9 seconds to go in the game. The ball is thrown in under the basket and the girl can't handle it and it goes out of bounds. Freedom's ball with 2.5 seconds. Coach Fox calls timeout and when Freedom comes back out and inbounds the ball they have 6 players on the court. Technical foul. Hobbs misses the first and hits the second to tie the game. SC inbounds the ball at half court and Hobbs throws a long pass to Lakey who has out run the defense catches the ball and lays it in without a dribble. Game over.
Don't know how many Ford scored tonight. She is a good little player but not near what I though she would be by what I had heard. She is not near as good as Tate was as a Freshman. The difference is Ford has to score a lot because she has very little help and Fox has everything set up to get her free. Tate played with teams that were much more balanced so the scoring wasn't all left up to her.
SC has to stay healthy in their starting 5. If they do this the game with Freedom at SC won't be near this close
