fhspatriot; You stated that Freedom was the better team. In your words: what game was YOU watching. SC is much better than Freedom and as sbmom stated if they make the easy shots that they were missing SC would have won by 25 or more. They clearly out played Freedom. Still with that said SC didn't make the easy open shots and one thing I will agree with you on is that at the end Freedom should have won. The coaches are human and they made a mistake and it cost them the game. Tough way to lose. As for Ali Ford this was my first time to see her and I to will have to say she wasn't what I was expecting. She will be a good player but has a lot to learn as do ALL freshman and no she was not the best player on the floor tonight. I will also agree with sbmom in that if SC don't start making the open shots that are inside 10 feet they are gonna get their butts kicked

It's one thing to lose a game on a technical foul, but its another thing to lose it on a wide open layup following the technical. That hurts... :agreed:

As far as the game in Marion tonight, the Lady Titans looked kinda sluggish tonight. We got a lead and came darn close to losing it in the end ala the Roberson game at home back in early December. We need to do a better job putting teams away. Washington scored a "quiet" 25 tonight and Lea Smith scored 21. Courtney Griffith is earning more and more playing time as each game passes. I was really happy to see both Bethany Dages and Jessica Smith getting more aggressive on offense. Jessica got the start tonight because Sierra Elliott was not dressed out to play, I heard she was fighting an injury but I have no specific details. The way our schedule is laid out, each conference game gets tougher and tougher. The Lady Spartans come to town on Tuesday. I hope they can bring a crowd the size close to what East Burke brought tonight.

As for the MHS-EB game....McDowell played good, but their defense was just so lacidasical. Everytime McDowell made a great play, they let EB back on the other end to make a basket. For McDowell to get better, they gotta tighten up that defense.

My game ball goes to Lea Smith, she's finally breaking out of the funk and getting back into the Lea Smith We knew from last year. Also good job to Jessica Smith for filling in for injured Sierra Elliott.

One comment on the Freedom, SC game. I felt very sorry for Coach Fox. She was devistated. I don't know who was at fault but it really don't matter it was just a mistake. Don't be to hard on her especially if you weren't there it was an exciting game and things happen like that. As for the call it is not the refs responsibility to make the 6th player get off the floor. In the case like this the ball is dead when it is thrown in and no time comes off the clock. It was handled the way it was supposed to be.

I think that if there was only one fox on the bench she would do a much better job:agreed:

Hate I had to miss this one. Sounds exciting. What has happened to SC's shooting. They were hitting all their shots before the christmas break and scoring 70 to 90 per game. Now it seems they can't hit anything. Maybe they are pressing to hard or not shooting enough at practice. Don't know but if they want to contend they better figure it out

That happens when you shoot 100 times a game.
