    This should be an interesting year in our conference. It's going to be strange without Gary Comer this year. I will miss him but I look forward to working with Jason Harris. Alexander says goodbye to a legend and hello to a bright young coach. I look forward to working with a good friend Mark Buffamoyer at East Burke. This might cut into his rabbit hunting. I will miss Tip at Reynolds. I hate to see such a great coach not on the field. I look forward to some more intense battles with Jeff Parham at South Caldwell. The Parham's- what a great baseball family! The last year of the nw4a should be a good one. Please continue to remember Will Dicus. He is just now starting to throw again and trying to get some of his strength back. He is a great inspiration to all of us. I would also like to congratulate Doyle Whitfield and Harry Frye for making the N.C. baseball coaches HOF. That's two baseball legends!!

    Good post, Coach. Man, your conference has lost some outstanding coaches, but it appears they have been replaced by some extremely talented young guys. I just hope, in Jason's case, that he ignores all the tips his best friend, Danny Hignnight, gives him and realizes this. Danny will find every edge he can to be prepared in case Alexander plays Providence in the playoffs. But with you, coach, he knows better than to sandbag you....ain't going to work!

    It's the Northwestern 4A opener for both schools and the home opener for Watauga period.

    I'm sure South Caldwell will throw Cody Penny. And I'm sure it will be cold.
