    Watauga 2- Freedom 1

Nick Geis scored in the top of the ninth on a wild pitch to give Watauga a 2-1 win over Freedom in one of those games that neither team deserves to lose.
Starters Austin Attaway and Brian Wilson hooked up in a classic pitchers duel.
In six innings, Watauga was only able to touch Attaway for one run when Kyle Greene lined a single to right scoring Tanner Martin. Wilson took his shutout into the 7th when with one out, Coty Clark hammered his 9th home run of the season to tie the game.

Zack Daw came in to relieve Attaway in the 5th and held Watauga scoreless before giving way to Alex Chapman in the 9th. Ryan Anderson relieved Wilson in the 8th with one on and retired the side. In the 9th, Watauga scored the winning run without getting a hit and Anderson struck out the meat of Freedom's order in the bottom half, Chapman.Clark & Attaway to preserve the win. Great ballgame on both sides !

    Diamond notes:
Coty Clark's home run ties the Freedom HS single season record of nine in his first nine games and gives The Pats team 20 in 05 !
Wilson also tossed two innings of perfect relief Vs South Caldwell on Tuesday giving him 9 innings pitched allowing one run for the week.

Seniors and Sophomores played a huge role in this game on both sides:
    Sophs:
    Austin Attaway
    Zack Daw
    Tanner Martin
    Dalton Hardee
    Ryan Anderson
    Seniors:
    Alex Chapman
    Coty Clark
    Brian Wilson
    Heath Holder
    Nick Geis

    SOUTH CALDWELL VS. EAST BURKE

    sOUTH CALDWELL 7
    EAST BURKE6

12 INNINGS OF COLD WEATHER BASEBALL. WINNING PITCHERS GRAGG AND MESSER WITH 6 INNINGS EACH. E.B. USED 3 PITCHERS. SOUTH CALDWELL'S SETER, HARDEE, BERRY WITH 2 HITS EACH. SOUTH CALDWELL'S BATTING ORDER NEEDS TWEEKING: CONTINUALLY LEAVING TOO MANY BASE RUNNERS STRANDED. E.BURKE'S HAMBY, WATTS, CRUMP, AND MCDANIEL DID WELL AT THE PLATE.

Alexander Central took it to the Rockets last nlght 4-0...Corbett got the W for the Cougars..jumped on top in the first 3-0 and made it stand, tacked one on in the bottom of the 7th...we've got to get the bats going!! Looks like no gimmes in NW4A this year.

Rockets now 3-3 overall, 0-2 conf.

Rocket jvs lost a tough one in the last inning 3-2 after hanging on to a 1-0 lead since the first inning...now 4-2

    East Burke and South Caldwell

Just a few quick comments here.
Both teams played very well in the cold conditions. EB shortstop was fenominal making play after play. Winning pitcher for SC was Messer who pitched a very good game in relief. Only a freshman with hardly any varsity experience comes in in a tough game a does a great job.

The SC jvs won again. Pitcher Zack Brown threw a PERFECT GAME. They also beat Hibriten today 29-0. They are "averaging" over 22 runs per game so far

What has happened to all of the ACHS supporter's? Last year they lost 2 game's and you would have known EVERY stat from EVERY game! This year hardly nothing at all. I know that they are 3-3 overall and I believe 2-0 in conference so what gives?? I have moved away to coach in another state and only visiting every other weekend or so, but frequently check to get info. on the Cougars. Somebody please keep us informed on this team's progress. I saw their team picture in the local paper and didn't recognize several of the player's. Please keep us informed on their progress..

    ACHS

The Cougars are 4-3 on the year and 2-0 in conference. The 3 losses were tough ones, 1 was the Providence (quality team), 1 to West Forsyth(quality team), and 1 to St.Stephens which the Cougars didnt play well against.

Matrix, I am glad to hear that Jordan Adkins is getting to play because he deserves the opportunity. Why do you care where I am coaching? Why would I tell someone who is hiding behind an avatar?
