    E. Burke @ Watauga

    East Burke 7
    Watauga 12

Pioneers failed on both extra point attempts. Sophomores Ryan Anderson and Logan Bailey combined to allow just 2 earned runs for Watauga in a somewhat sloppy game from both squads. The Cavs "D," in particular, was awful.

    JVs

    East Burke 4
    Watauga 14 (in 5)

Both Watauga squads are 3-2 in league play.

    Watauga 7- Alexander Central 3

The Pioneers win their first game in Taylorsville since 2001, snapping the Cougars seven game winning streak. Watauga jumped out to a 3 run lead in the first on run scoring singles by Tanner Martin,Devin Presnell and Caleb Martin. They tacked on what proved to be the decisive run in the second when Heath Holder singled in Ryan Anderson.
ACH cut the lead to 4-3 on HR's by Corbett and Bowles. Nick Geis answered with a huge 2 RBI double in the third to give Watauga a 6-3 cushion. Heath Holder reached base all four times and six different Watauga batters scored in the balanced attack.

Watauga starter Logan Bailey and closer Ryan Anderson combine to shut down the potent ACH offense over the final 5 innings. Anderson picked up the save with 5 Ks and Bailey got the win.

    Each team committed 3 errors.

Congrats to the rockets on a huge win. I am not gonna call this an upset, because a 9-0 score certainly does not represent an upset. Keep it rolling.
