    Alexander beat Watauga 11-3 in varsity; in the JV game Watauga won 14-4, pounding out 16 hits in 4+ innings.

    Dunno about McD-Freedom.

    ACHS vs. Watauga

    The Cougars got their revenge from when the Pioneers beat them at AC. ACHS came ready to hit, pounding out 17 hits. Kelly McLain went the distance on the mound for the Cougars.

    McLain- 7 innings 9 hits 4 runs(2 earned) 1 walk 7 strikeouts Win(8-3)


    Hitting:
    Cameron Kerley- 4 for 5 3 singles, double 1 RBI
    Bryan Corbett- 3 for 5 3 run HR(3rd of season) 2 singles 5 RBI
    Dustin Harrington- 2 for 4 2 singles 1 RBI
    Justin Russell- 2 for 4 single, double 1 RBI
    Kelly McLain- 2 for 5 2 singles 1 RBI
    Jordan Clary- 1 for 3 double 2 RBI

    The Cougars improve to 15-5 overall and 10-1 in NW4A conference play.

    With Alexander Central winning the conference, Brian Corbett is being mentioned as the frontrunner to succeed Matt Payne.
    You could make a case for several others.
    Does this award always go to a senior on the first place team ?

    In most conferences, the Head Coaches meet shortly after the end of the regular season and vote on the All-Conference team and the POY. How the coaches in the NW4A choose to handle it is up to them. There are no "state-wide" rules governing the selection process.

    what i've heard is that if youtr coach nominates you then you make it. that's it. last year there were about 25 baseball all conference players

    Not true in many conferences. In most conferences, they have a limit on the number of All-Conf players. In some conferences, they have a requirement that all teams are represented on the All-Conf teams, regardless of season record.

    It just depends on how the AD's at each conf set it up.
