Does anyone know where the 2006 NW4A tourney will be held next year? I think someone has said that Watauga's gym is to small to host. I really think its quite big enough if you ask me. However if it is to small would any of you guys be opposed to having the tourney at the Holmes Convocation Center at ASU. They need events and since ASU basketball was away this weekend it certainly could be done next year.

That would certainly be big enough (8,375) and would meet the media needs. Maybe we could pull the 1st rounds away from the higher seed if we had the whole thing at the HCC and it could really turn into an event.

Im pretty sure that the nw4a tourny will be held at mcdowell next year. I dont see any thing wrong with holding the tourny there except the drive. That is why they like to have it at a central location usually on the I-40 corridor.

It will NEVER happen...."travel" will be the excuse,:banginghe because ACR is plenty big enough and they refuse to come up here and have the tournament (even though the wrestling tournament was held here!). They have to keep it down there where they control the happenings!:twocents:

I would understand the location/drive excuse but it would seem like they should throw WHS and AC Reynolds a bone once every 3-4 years. Remember we have to make long drives every year.

If you held the tournament at ASU the NW4A would lose out on some revnue. If they hold the tourney at one of the high schools then they get all the gate money plus concessions. I am sure ASU would not let us come over there and play at there place free of charge. If they would then I say do it, but i just do not see it happening.

It is a bunch of junk. They held the softball tourney at AC last year and I think again this year. Who are the powers that be that control where the bball tourney is held? The tourney needs to be rotated through all the schools or held at a neutral site every year.

Well, they couldnt host it at all NW4A schools. South Caldwells gym is tiny. However WHS and AC has legitimate beef.

    WHS
    AC Reynolds
    East Burke
    Freedom
    McDowell

It should rotate through those 5. Alexander and South Caldwell is too small. I don't bye this stuff that WHS is to small. Im sure some of yall have been to Wataugas gym, if we pull out all the bleachers it would certainly be big enough.

I agree however Watauga in my opinion needs to add some lights to their gym, it's a little dark in there! As for size I think it would be plenty big enough.

I agree on the light thing. Our upper levels are dark. I usual sit down on the 1st row where I can talk to the players/refs. Its more fun, so I never notice lighting problems until I look up there.
