East Burke @ McDowell - East Burke's defense has really picked up the past 2 weeks. I'll pick East Burke by 14.

AC vs Freedom - AC by 10. The Patriots are down after the loss to South Caldwell and AC had a week rest.

Watauga vs South Caldwell - Watuaga by 21. I think Watauga will be fired up this week and Eric can relax on defense more. He had to make alot of tackles on Shatley from EB last week which I felt took him out of his offensive game. Watauga need to find a way to rest him on defense.

ACR bye - They don't need a rest.

East will maul McDowell. Shatley will run over, around and truck sticking through the MHS defense. 41-21 EBHS

Watauga- Got run over by Shatley. We could not get the ball away from EBHS. They had it for 35 minutes of a 48 minute game. Ridiculous. South lost to McDowell so that shows me concern. Watauga will face a in your face practice this week and will win 24-14.

Alexander- Will beat Freedom. I think Freedom has given up, plus Alexander had a week off. AC 27 Freedom 23

East Burke over McDowell: I think this could be high scoring. I don't see the East Burke defense being as dominant as what Reynolds was this past friday. But in the end McDowell may not be able to out-score the Cavaliers.

Watauga over South Caldwell: I think Watauga will rebound from their loss to East Burke. The Pioneers have been able to beat the teams that they are clearly superior to while losing to those who they are not superior to. I look for that trend to continue.

Alex. Central over Freedom: Well, I say a month ago that Freedom wouldn't recover after playing a brutal non-conference schedule and I'm afraid that is coming to truth. From the one game I have seen this year they have too good a talent pool to be only a team with one win. This team more than anything needs a couple of wins behind their belt to gain confidence and momentum. They had no chance at doing that playing Crest, Shelby, Asheville and Roberson in the first month of the season.

Freedom @ Alexander Central This will be the first time this season that the Cougars play a team with a losing record. Freedom has played a tough schedule but AC has too, N Gaston, S Point, Hickory, etc...Cougars will score enough to get their first league win. Freedom is an enigma but all those losses are making them doubt themselves. AC 24 Freedom 20

East Burke @ McDowell East Burke should roll by controlling the ball and pounding the McDowell defense. Buggy will break a couple long ones though. East Burke will not be cough napping. East Burke 35 McDowell 21

Watauga @ South Caldwell This could be a real good one. South got a good win a week ago and Watauga is coming off a bad loss. Watauga has EB and I think this is the week that he has a monster game, 200 yards and 4 td's. Watauga 31 South Caldwell 17

AC- I think they could go 3-0 and make the playoffs, then again if the kids are down on themselves who knows. Russell will get plenty of throws and keep them in the games.....it just depends on the supporting cast. McDowell is then only team that might beat them....only b/c the run D isnt very good. I dont see Freedom or SC coming to AC and winning.

    Watauga- They should win easily

    EB- Should also win easily

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
Yes we do, our Varsity and JV's both have had to use backup QB's the past TWO weeks due to injuries. Now those guys did a great job, but our Varsity and JV's both need to heal their starting QB's.
