NW4A Week 11: Final Conf. Week

    Ladies and Gents, hard to believe but the final week of the regular season is here. McDowell can clinch the season championship and a #1 seed in the state sectionals with a win against Freedom tuesday night...a win by Freedom would keep their chances alive. AC Reynolds would clinch 3rd place with a victory against South Caldwell. South and East Burke are fighting for the #4 spot in conference which could be the difference between an automatic or Wild Card bid in the playoffs. A Watuaga win tuesday night could place them in line for a Wild Card spot. Definitely a lot to play for in this last week.

    Big Dan; Help me out here. If SC wins their last two games against Reynolds and AC will they not finish 3rd in conference

    Another ? for anyone. If there is a tie in conf. standings, and the two split in season, does seeding go by non-conference record?

    If Im not mistaken, it goes by results against other conference opponents. If they remain tied, it would go to whoever goes farther in the conference tournament.

    I wouldnt think it would come to non-conference records because not every team in the NW4A plays the same amount of games in non-conference. It wouldnt really be fair to give someone the higher seed or a state playoff berth because they had a better record in non-conference play despite not playing the same amount of games their opponents participated in.
