I never say any thing about the refs but last night in the first half it was pretty bad. 8 to 2 in fouls and with the aggressiveness Mcdowell was playing they commited way way more than 2 fouls. on rebounding our girls needed a saddle. the no calls hurt us more than what they called on us did. whether you are a Mcdowell or SC fan if you were there and being honest you will say it was pretty bad in the first half. They did start calling some on Mcdowell in the second. Not saying we would have won Mcdowells defense took over the game. They were very good. But getting so far behind really hurt us. Young teams live and die through momentum and we couldn't get going in the first because of the officiating. Hey I've been on the other end where we get all the calls and bad calls at that. It isn't on purpose just happens.

I know what you're saying scfan,I was just picking at you. I know how frustrating it can be when the team is having a bad night and they can't seem to get any calls either. That is one reason I have tried as a fan to help express my feelings from the stands{in a fun way}:svengo: when I think our McDowell teams are getting bad calls. Anyone that has ever attended a McDowell home game will know what I mean. LOL

Just remember that its not over the back if you reach over top of them to get the rebound, just if you make contact with them. Great win for the Lady Titans heading into a key conference matchup with rivals Freedom. Should be a packed house on a cold night in the mountains

Funny SC fan didn't mention fouls in FHS game was 10-2 in favor of SC at one point last week but throws it out there so quickly this time...moroon colored glasses...haha

BTW-Olivia Surrat was FHS Top scorer with 15 last night-Ford 14...so you can disgard any of the running up score garbage.

Funny but if you would read before you run your mouth you would see that I said I had been on the end where we got the calls also. The game with Freedom was just like last night. We would have beat Freedom either way just like Mcdowell would have beat us either way. Wasn't making an excuse for the loss just stating a fact

Okay folks, we're less than 48 hours away from the 2nd matchup of the season between McDowell and Freedom. Hard to believe but this will be the last ever game at McDowell between the two as conference foes...lots of great memories over the years. I gotta believe we'll have a full house on hand. Freedom is the favorite after taking the match up at the Burke Invitational by 6 points. People who saw that game knows that the Lady Titans have an advantage in the interior while the Lady Patriots played about as fundamental a game that they've done in a while (only 4 turnovers)...

    Any comments/predictions on friday's action?

It's gonna be a good one.:hurray: I keep thinking about both of their games against South Caldwell recently. Just Saying. Bad thing is the single digit weather might hurt the crowd attendance.:53:

Although not predicting the outcome, I see Gellman as the key to this game...if she scores less than 20--I don't think McDowell has enough offense...25 or 30 Titans could easily win. CC is a tough match up for Ward so Gellman has to carry You.

I really didn't think we'd be guessing on this one this year but after the close game at Freedom earlier and what happened at South Caldwell last week I believe the Lady Titans can win this game Friday. Like I said earlier this season the lady Titans are not blessed with any great athletes this season but Coach Franklin has done an outstanding job of getting these young ladies to play together as a team and play hard defense the entire game. It really will depend on how Ali Ford plays. If she has a game like she had at Reynolds it could be a long night for McDowell. If the lady Titans hold her under 25 points I believe they will win by 5. Either way it should be a good one.
