You may be correct but I've always thought regardless of what the regular season outcomes were, if two teams had the same record, their placement in the state sectionals as determined by how they did in the conference tourneys.

Anyways...its a moot point right now.

Tonight's game between McDowell and Reynolds was closer than the one in Marion back in January. McDowell played a lot of diamond and 1 with the focus on Taylor...she scored 16 points, Brinkley led the Lady Rockets with 23, much better than the 1st match up. There was just a stretch in the 3rd and 4th quarters, where Reynolds got sloppy with the ball in the half-court setting and it allowed a 1-2 possession game slide up to an 8-12 point margin.

The tie breaker for SC now will be the Monday Tourney game. Should be the same for ACR and FHS. Of course if my math is right and yours the FHS win and the ACR lose sorted them out #2 and #3.

Monday's games have nothing to do with it.
East Burke is the #4 seed due to their win over McDowell, only way anyone changes positions is if anyone wins the tourney other than MCD or FHS then they get the #2 seed.
    seeds are:
    McDowell 11-1
    FHS 9-3
    ACR 8-4
    EB 6-6
    SC 6-6
    WAT 2-10
    Alex. Cent. 0-12

I would say SC's 14 wins will get them a WC---and thats either vs East Gaston or Butler (ouch)

I wouldn't even rule out the possibility of Watauga (11-13) making the cut as one of the last Wild Card's...we've had some teams since the Wild Card format was introduced with overall records similar to that of Watauga.

I will get us a conf. tourney thread started up later today...

Ive got a VW phone and have been to many games at Reynolds. And neither in Roberts Gym or Dalton Stadium could I pick up a signal.

A land-line connection could be used for a back-up if they cant get a signal. IMHO, the land-line works much better cause you get better clarity and volume. Not to mention, the wireless connection also picks up way too much ambient sounds (Crowd Noise) than the land-line.

Case in point when McDowell's boys played in the sectional finals against Crest at Gardner-Webb 2 years ago, and when they also played in the Regionals at The Joel...I heard more crowd noise than i could of Van McKinney's play-by-play. The other side of the coin is MAC 100.7 in Boone for Watauga's broadcasts. Mike Kelly always uses a land-line connection and he's just as clear as a bell without the ambience. In fact, I listened to all of the Watauga @ McDowell game as I was coming home from Boone from covering McDowell @ Watauga wrestling for The McDowell News.

It might cost more to the sponsors, but it would really improve the transmission quality to go back to the land-line connection, provided that the schools we go to have a connection point to do a land-line connection.

100.7 MAC FM uses a land line where ever possible however their are alot of places we have to go off the cell. It really doesn't even cost more if you have an 800 number to get your connection. However trying to get cell signal at AC Reynolds on Verizon is a joke. However ALL NW4A schools have access to land lines. Most of the time 100.7 uses cell is in the playoffs or non league games.

100.7 used cell at Mtn Heritage, Avery, Forsyth Country Day, Wilkes Central, North Wilkes and Chase.

If all WBRM has is cell, there is no way they can broadcast from ACR. It's not worth it.

That's a good point about the 800 number...I forgot all about that. I was down at ACR for wrestling and couldnt even get the time off my cell. That's how bad it was down there.

But WBRM used to go off land-line well before the advent of cell phones.
