    I didn't attend the game (work). I have looked at every site I can think of to get them and no one has them, including the Asheville Citizen-Times which has the boys score but no girls...Go figure. Hopefully someone from Freedom will post it when they get home. Sorry!

    Just a side note the final score should be 96 to 77 becuse freedom had 39 pts. near the end of the 1st half and Clifton Avery hit 2 free throws and we only came away with 40 pts. I'm not complaining by any means just wanted to add that

    McDowell 85
    Watauga 70

    The Run and Gun that Watuaga has been doing lately did not work at all against McDowell. First of if you're gonna go full blast, you better be able to shoot the rock. Watauga did not shoot the ball well at all. The Titans were able to rebound fairly well and that took away most everything for the Pioneers.

    Second, it's one thing to play offense at a fast tempo but you gotta play defense as well to be successful. The Watauga defense was non-existant at times. Can't remember the number of times McDowell broke the Pioneer press for an easy lay up or dunk.


    Petey Hausley more than made up for his limited performance up in Boone a few weeks ago. Hausley had 21 pts, 17 boards, 4 blocks in Saturday's win.

    When is McDowell going to modernize and switch to breakaway rims. Everyone else in the conference has them.

    McDowell had them back in the early 90's. Sometime back, I was told through some former players that they would get them back when they won a state championship. And as you can see, we've not won any.
