Does any one have any predictions on how the NW4A boys? I know that Reynolds is probably the preseason favorite. They return 4 starters from last years team. Then you will have Freedom, McDowell, and East Burke fighting for the other playoff spots. I've seen McDowell in their 2 scrimmages and they should have a decent team. They will be very young. Coach Church will start 3 sophmores this year and that is not including Terrance Kincaid. He saw alot of playing time as a freshman, but hurt his knee in football and will probably miss the entire season. Matt Evans is also hurt and may not be back until the Christmas Tournament. Brian Greene will be the goto guy again this year and look for the Hausley kid to have a good year also. The non-conference schedule is brutal for MHS this year, so hopefully this will help them when the conference games start. Coach Church will not be able to sub like he has in the past few seasons. With 2 starters out look for him to play only 7 - maybe 8 players a game.

South Caldwell is having to play right now without several players because of football so I really can't tell what we will be like as the season goes on. Will be without big man in the middle (Swaba broke his arm badly in football) and this will hurt. Just a guess but it looks like a tough year for SC hope they do better than I think they will but right now I don't see a lot of wins here

The Pioneers got hammered in their opener at West Caldwell, but with Seth Moore on the frontline they may contend for a playoff spot in the league this year. They may be 2A, but West would probably dominate the NW4A, so losing at their place in the opener is not the end of the world for Watauga.
