Anybody else go to this last night?

Great time. Patterson destroyed NC Tech in the first game 111-56. Only 8 guys on the NC Tech roster were no match for Patterson. Three players have already committed to the next level (Florida International, Arkansas and Memphis). The Memphis bound kid, Matt Simpkins, 6'9" who was just too much for poor NC Tech. Started looking like a Harlem Globetrotters/Generals contest.

Hickory hung around on Oak Hill and had a chance to take a lead with Oak Hill leading 12-10 in the first quarter. I give credit to Hickory. They played the whole game, and had some highlight moments of their own. Oak Hill won 90-67.

Brandon Jennings for Oak Hill is the real deal. Committed to Arizona. Went crazy hot in the third quarter, draining three treys in that quarter alone. Looks like he's got a bit of an attitude at times, and I hope college will get him a bit more level-headed.

Glenn Bryant, 6'7" for Oak Hill will end up somewhere big as well. Showed some great skill last night and skyed big-time on a dunk that brought the gym into a frenzy in the second half.

Stuck around for the first quarter of Veritas and Mt. Zion. Veritas has 7'2" Caralin Baciu who's committed to Clemson. Impressive guy, just needs to continue to bulk up. You can tell he's been in the gym working out. He just needs to keep doing that and eating!

Sorry I tangeted there. Back to the original question. Any you guys there last night?

    Impressive night

yes, i was there, lots of talent on the floor in all the games. Oak Hill was good, and i can not believe i am saying this(being from a county rival) but Hickory truely out hustled them and never gave up, just did not have enough BIG BODIES. Not that they need it but a game like that can only make Hickory better when they return to conference play. I was most impressed with Patterson, wow, who would have thought a small school in Happy Valley (lenoir) nc could put a team that good together. I do have 1 question, why did Patterson/NC Tech play 2 twenty minutes halves and Hickory/Oak hilll play 4 eight minute quarters?

Patterson Prep was started when the Coach from Laurinburg Inst (down east) came up to work at Patterson....he brought those kids with him.....it isnt really that Patterson started anything, they just had it given to them.....That said its still a cool think to have in Caldwell County!
