    I knew Enka would be very strong, but, the bat control the Enka players displayed was the best overall I have ever seen in a high school team. With their excellent pitiching they will for sure be a favotite to make to State...Pisgah also has two excellent pitchers and a good offence, It would great to have two west teams so close together playing in Raleigh..Oh, congrats to the fans for providing a fun and friendly atmosphere in the stands

    Enka and Pisgah are the best of the west.

    Old Fan.... Couldn't agree more. Enka looked very balanced. Blankenship's pitching was superb. She was hitting spots, making the ball move and pitching smart. The left handing hitters for Enka were hitting to all fields and bunting with precision. The infield defense was excellent. 2nd base makes everything look easy. She is so smooth. Enka's bats are tough all thru the lineup and hopefully #4 will be hitting soon.

    I have already bragged on Pisgah in previous posts. They are pitching and executing at the top level and continue to impress. I am so pumped that Enka and Pisgah agreed to play on the 28th. That will be fun to watch. I hope we see all 4 pitchers.... maybe Soesbee (sp?) too.

    Win or Lose Enka and Pisgah needed this game to help them in post season play. Pisgah's pitching is superb. It will be a big big test for Enka. Hawk08 the DD finally got to bat in the 7th inning and got a hit to left with bases loaded. She was so nervous. I want to tell you that I have never been more proud of the players on Enka Varsity than I have tonight. When DD walked to the plate you would have thought it was the finals for state. The team knew she was nervous after being out for so long and they wanted her to know they understood and they were totally behind her. I know that their cheering and encouragement had as much to do with her success at the plate as anything she might have done on the practice field. Thanks to all the players.

    support, encouragement and faith from your teammates is always relaxing and beneficial. a sign of a "great team" plus they have a "great coach" and support group! :D :D from other WNCers

    Soesbee will be pitching the JV game at 4:00.
    I'm not sure who is starting for varsity, but it should be a great game.
