I would have to think that the fans, parents, and administration would have to be irrate over the behavior of the Olympic coaches and players in their game at Alexander Central on Saturday night. The Cougars played a great defensive game and got the win 17-6, but the story of the game is the THUG attitude displayed by the Trojan players and coaches. They are a very talented group of athletes but as for their behavior, it was CLASSLESS.

Before the game at the urging of the coaching staff, several Olympic players circled the Big A on the field. They danced on the A taunting the Cougars and some even spit on the A. Before the game the coaching staff was heard cursing along with the players. When the game started it was a steady diet of trash talking, punching, and poor sportsmanship by the Trojans. For kids to behave like this is sad, but for it to be apparently condoned by the coaching staff is disgraceful.

I hope that the AD at Olympic makes some changes in the teams behavior, this is not the way we want our young athletes to conduct themselves. Other than 1 instance when the Cougars retaliated, the team from Taylorsville showed a lot of class. This should be credited to Coach Deal and his staff, they got the situation under control and led by example. That was not the case on the Olympic sideline.

Great job AC and congrats to coach Deal and his staff. Awesome job of setting a good example in the face of stupidity. :xyzthumbs

I attended the game in the Ville last night. First let me say Good job to the Cougars and their staff. They had their team ready to play and they simply outcoached the Trojans.
Second, it looked like the Trojans had no interest in being at the game. They stood on the sidelines arms crossed thinking more about conditions then the game.
Third, I didnot see the pregame, but if a team is going to do that they had better be able to take a snap from center. The Trojans must've had 100 yard in bad snaps last night.
GOOD LUCK TO THE NW4A in the next round.

    ive already spoken

ive already spoken about this situation on 2 other threads.. but from being involved in the game... i was ready to fight... but we dont let our emotions get the best of us.. we play with emotion but between the whistles... They were out there an hour before the game huddled around the A and they spit on it... then when we were out there stretching, they lined up on the 50 and their coach was telling and yelling at them to talk junk and yell at us... then when we were going over plays their coach was dancing and stomping and he spit on the A once again... and when we went in the room before the game... lets just say we came out and we showed the trojans that for one u dont disrespect someone like that... especially us when we have played extremely tough at home. But thats over and done with and time to concentrate on Waddell and I hope for a good game with them and no more of the immature disrespectful crap olympic showed

This will be my only post on this subject.

You are full of it. No coach told anyone to talk junk. I was there with the team during that time. If anyone spit on the emblem on the field it was an isolated incident. Give me player number it will be addressed. And no coach spit on the emblem. Tell me which coach it was and again it will be addressed.

You say you play with emotion but between the whistles? I have on film where one of your players came running down the sideline and hit one of our players in the back of the head. He was standing on the sidelines as the refs were trying to get AC players away from Olympic players because you were ATTACKING them. Not a single Olympic player took a swing or shoved anyone during that heated moment. AC on the other hand was throwing punches at our players, again film shows this. The officials threw a flag on AC for unsportsmanlike conduct as a result. This was after the supposed late hit out of bounds. Game film also proves clearly that the AC player was INBOUNDS and hits were made INBOUNDS.

You guys can spin it any way you want. Game Film reveals the truth which is something that seems to be foreign to posters like I see here.

The only team that showed no class was Alexander Central. You talked more junk, threw more cheap punches in the game (again film proves this) than ANY team I've seen this year. There were also far more unsportsmanlike calls against you guys. The refs did let things get out of hand. At least one AC player should have been ejected from this game.

It is rare that you have to leave the field immediately after the game but that is exactly what we did. We always huddle together on the field after the game and say a prayer. Not this time. The taunting and trash talking continued on after the game ended.

And it carried right up to the stands and press box. I think the stunt Alexander Central pulled by taunting the Olympic fans over the loud speaker as people left the stadium speaks VOLUMES about how little class you have. I have been to many High School football games over the years and I have never heard anything close that in my life.

You talk trash to fans as they are leaving the game; you talk trash on the field. Sort of goes hand in hand. There were also coaches and players of teams that have played Alexander Central on our side they told me during the game that this was TYPICAL of how Alexander Central plays ball. We have a writer traveling with the team this year. He is a former player at AC Reynolds. Again, he said this was typical of Alexander Central. I heard your junk when I was on the sidelines and a couple of your players (mainly #84) could be heard all the way to the first row of the stands on the visitor side.

The fans, parents and administration are irate at what we saw. We went up there hoping to have a good experience, win or lose. Instead we encountered what has to be the lowest of the low in High Schools here in North Carolina

    Hmmmm

Well I am not sure what ODad was watching or on, but it's hard to, in his words "You talk trash to fans as they are leaving the game; you talk trash on the field." when the 30 or so that did come to support a very athletic and talented team disappeared before the game was over. I will admit that his reference to #84 is somewhat true, this young man has had some trouble with running his mouth this season, but as an apple-to-apple comparison, the players of ACHS showed a lot of class under some extreme situations that could have easily gotten out of hand. The one thing that ihave noticed about high school athletics is how they model so much of what is shown to them from the professional ranks on ESPN and even the local news coverage. When a 17 yo stands over his opponent after a tackle just to bring the attention to himself is not necssary and begins with the coaches and either what they encourage or correct. Watching the young men from Olympic was like watching a SportsCenter version of "everyone look at me" episode. Sorry, I was there as an unattached fan to see a good game and did not see what ODad saw. I have a child that plays in this very competitive NW4A and will admit to anyone that asks when I see my child or any of our kids from ACHS getting dirty or unsportsman. And in our house it will get corrected. I just hope that the few parents that were there will do the same for their kids in the State of Mecklenburg.
