    USA

defeated China 4-0, with Lori Harrigan pitching a one-hitter, Chrystal Bustos hit a solo HR. The USA team is 4-0 and has allowed only 6 hits, O Runs, outscored their opponents 24-0 and hasnt used Jennie Finch much at all. Hopefully she will pitch Wednesday(10am game time here) and keep the team on track for the GOLD!

Another great win for the U.S. against Canada! It appeared Canada did score against the U.S., but the umpire saw it another way. It sure is nice when it's a major accomplishment when we can only discuss teams coming close to scoring against the U.S. much less coming close to beating them. :xyzthumbs

When medal play begins, I would anticipate the teams coming at the U.S. with a much higher level of intensity. I was at a coaches clinic in Myrtle beach back in January where Coach Candera was a speaker, and he thought that China was going to be their toughest competition, so look out for China in the medal games.

By the way, who was this Matt guy helping to announce the game? He was terrible. You would have thought NBC could have found someone who was at least somewhat familar with the game. This guy had no idea what a slap was or why it was used. He also had no understanding of the various pitches used in softball or why the bunt was used so much. Come on NBC, you can do better.

Your right about the call against Canada. It sure did look like the ump missed it on the replay. But the two things I noticed were, first no one from team Canada gave the ump what for. (I hope we can all take that to our level)
and second Even at that level where you know they have the best of the best calling the game a mistake like that can be made. I hope we all will think twice when we feel the need to give "blue" A peice of our mind over calls in our games.

I agree. The only time I saw anyone from Canada say anything was when the third base coach calmly questioned the blues strike zone once. Blue was certainly calling the way outside strike, but he was consistent calling that pitch for both sides.

However, if the game would have been 0-0 or 1-0 at the time at the play at the plate, I would think the Canada coach would have been a little more animated. I know I would have been. Sometimes you just have to stand up for your team.
