On Deck prides itself on teaching lessons about life's experiences and persistance in a positive way. A player in the On Deck Academy will develop a better understanding of the importance of striving for excellence and being well rounded not only in athletics, but more importantly in academics, social decision making, and community service. We are very proud to host our 3rd "Make a difference" tournament. The summer tournaments, benefiting the USO-NC, and being a partner with Susan G. Komen, to help raise money for great causes were a great success.

Watched a great game Sat. as the Charlotte Hurricanes 2012 defeated the
Golden Spikes 2012 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th. Hope Sunday provides competitive quality like this on such a beautiful weekend for baseball....

I would like to thank everyone for participating in this past weekend's tournament. I hope everyone found it to be very competitive and highly productive. We enjoyed hosting the event and appreciate all the positive feedback we have received to this point.
I cannot thank the coaching staff at UNC Charlotte, Catawba College, Pfeiffer University, Belmont-Abbey College, Wingate University, Hickory Ridge HS, and Jay M. Robinson HS enough for allowing us to use the fields. Each site was in great shape and the site coordinators could not have been more helpful and professional. As always, I want to thank Gary Swanson and the umpires for doing a great job of officiating.
We look forward to having all of you back for future On Deck events. Thanks again for your participation and support.

The event also successfully raised money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

I am sure there are many others in the baseball community that have been touched by this disease as well.
