    Southwest 7 Beddingfield 2

Complete game win for righty Tommy Tolson and a 2 run home run by his catcher Timmy Riggs.

Beddingfield started 8 freshman/sophomores. Nice young team.

    West Wilkes @ Watauga

    West Wilkes - 1
    Watauga - 17

    WP - Jon Sharpe

Watauga hitting got off to a fast start scoring 13 runs in the first inning. Cal Hardee goes 4-4 with 2 RBIs, Trey Dunnigan hits a 3-run HR along with hitting from everyone in the lineup. Ethan Moyer did not play due to basketball restraints.

    Watauga Pitching: Jon Sharpe: 4 IP, 4 Ks, 1 BB, 1 H, 0 ER.. Will Dicus 1 IP, 3 Ks, 2 H, 1 ER.

strong start for Watauga... next up: Murderer's Row. TC Roberson, Audrey Kell, Mt. Tabor, Mt. Tabor, South Caldwell.

Biggest story of the game: Drew Newell's jersey was retired, as well as the left field sign was unveiled "Newman's Corner #12 Drew Newell Livin' the Dream". Very emotional pre game ceremony, huge crowd there to support a fellow teammate, brother, friend and forever family member. Great night at Watauga.

Ardrey Kell vs West Meck Upset?

Almost. West Meck went up 7-0 after 3 innings, but Ardrey Kell fought back and was down 7-5 heading to the top of the 7th. AK proceeded to score 8 runs in the top of the 7th to win the game 13-7. Outstanding effort from both teams with a special mention to AK's Ryan Butler(Soph) who shut WM down with 3 1/3 quality innings of relief.

West Meck came out swinging. Lead-off HR by Charlie King, eight hits in the first two innings, and not a cheap one in the bunch. Matt Hill was sharp on the mound as he did not give up a hit through three, facing one over the minimum before running out of gas in the fourth.

AK was saved by sophomore Ryan Butler who put the fire out in the second, did not walk a batter, and allowed just one hit in innings 3-6 while striking out eight.

Michael Kruger had the big hit for the Knights, a one out double in the 7th to drive in the go ahead run and open up the flood gates as four of the next five batters had a hit, including Ryan Stetson's two run homer.

    Game file attached.

    No Decision

Starter Jim Leggett pitched a great game 6 INN 5 H 6 K 2 ER, the RM bullpen could not hold the lead in the top of the 7th when Rose tied the game at 4-4.

    Marvin Ridge 16 Monroe 0

Marvin Ridge got the first win in the programs history against Monroe. They pitched well by committee and a combination of some good hitting, a ton of walks and some errors led to the 16 runs.

    Change in Schedule

Winston Salem Carver vs. East Forsyth scheduled for tomorrow has been moved to Wednesday at 5pm. This is because of the new backstop East has put up and they are giving the crew an extra day to finish putting up the net over the new brick wall behind homeplate!
Ryan Dull is slated to be the starting pitcher Wed.

    Burns vs. McDowell

2 future Gardner Webb pitchers faced each other at Burns with the Bulldogs beating McDowell 4-2. Right handed side armer (GWU signee) Adam Izokovic got the win going the distance while the left hander from McDowell (also a GWU signee but not sure what his name is) also went the distance but got the loss. Burns looks to be pretty good this year, they have above average pitching with Izokovic and Eric Shufford (Pfeiffer signee), but there hitting must improve.
