Leading Hitters for MBK- J. Harris- 2-3 2 RBI Doubles, G. Redmond 1-3, T. Smith 1-3 RBI double, R. Hanks 1-2, Can't think of anything else but there is more there.

Pitching- J. Harris-(W)- CG, 5 hits, 2 walks, 4 K's, 1 run. Jake did a fantastic job of keeping the ball low and getting ahead of batters. He's a solid ball player all the way around and he's an '09.

Charlotte Christian: 5 North Gaston: 0

Charlotte Christian opened it's season with a 5 to 0 victory over North Gaston. Luke Bard pitched 4 innings of 2 hit ball. Stuart "Pookie" Caldwell pitched two scoreless inning giving up no hits and Jordan Mitchell pitched a scoreless seventh.

The offenses of both teams struggled on a windy, chilly night. Luke Bard had an RBI double. Scott Glover had two singles (one a towering wind blown ball that the third baseman had trouble making the play). Christian was aided by several walks and hit batsmen by North Gaston. All in all not a bad opener for the Knights.

They play a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 2:00pm against Christ School from Asheville.
