    Just curious about how everyones day went with the wet fields and some snow on the ground? Also, what were the numbers like as far as the number of players trying out?

    Any Scrimmage Games This Weekend

    Originally Scheduled for Saturday but was told they are trying to move it to this Friday at 4:00 PM. (Found out Thursday night that the game is still scheduled for Saturday).

    ACR Rockets

    will play their first scrimmage today (Thur) at home against North Buncombe. Weather looked iffy for Sat - so we get to start today!!!:woohoo:

    Best of luck to the Rockets - they've been working hard and should have a great season!!!!

    The TC Roberson at East Rutherford scrimmage has been moved to Fri. at 3:30 at East Rutherford.

    Davie will be playing Watauga Friday at 4:00. They are supposed to play W. Rowan Saturday, but with the weather changing I don't think they will be able to play Saturday.

    East Gaston, East Mecklenburg, and Kings Mountain have a round robin scrimmage friday the 17th at 3:30 at East Gaston.

    EAST RUTHERFORD / TC ROBERSON SCRIMMAGE

    TC visited East Rutherford today and the teams got in a great workout, playing 13 total innings in about 5 hours. From what I could tell, both teams were missing 3 starters ( Z. Blanton, B. Wood, P. Tate for ER, T. Hefner, J. Ramsey and 1 other for TC).

    Some Stat. Highlights
    East Ruth. HITTING :
    Cullen Park (So.) - 3-6, 2B, HR
    Michael Melton (Jr.) - 3-6, 2 runs
    Michael Milam (So.) - 3-6, 2B, 2 runs, RBI
    Robbie Pruett (Sr.) - 2-7, HR (Grand Slam), 4 RBI
    Trey Owens (Sr.) - HR
    East pushed across 15 runs on the evening.

    TC Rob. HITTING:
    Justin Jackson - 3-6, 2B, BB, 5 SB (and looked outstanding at SS)
    Jonathan Wright - 2-7, 2B

    East Ruth. PITCHING : ( In the order that they appeared)
    Tyler Smith (Jr.) - 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 K, 0 BB
    Daniel Goodnight (Jr.) - 3 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 K, 2 BB, 1 HP
    Cullen Park (So.) - 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K, 2 BB
    Blake Bostic (Sr.) - 2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 K, 1 BB

    As Justin's father Chuck said to me at the start "I can't believe it. We're watching baseball!". Glad the season's here.
