Why is it teams that win or do very well in a "B" World Series just can't seem to say it was the "B" world series when they post. Is doing well in the "B" world series not something to be proud of or is it because they shouldn't have been there to begin with? What's your opinion.

i don't think it should matter at all. any game you play is gained experience for the girls and that is what your goal is. as they grow older they will make their decisions to stick with it or play better teams or on a better team or just contiue to have fun playing the game. now i think the difference some people make is the right to brag on how good your team is compared to who you have played and that does make a difference. but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is did the girls learn something and have fun doing it. get on here and post all your successes, most of us like to hear about it, ....... as for the others :77321_bs:

It is because they should not have been there !! They had an overal record of 33-2. It is an embaresment to SC/NC softball that NSA would alow this team to enter a "B" tournament . Can't fault the girls they played to win and should be proud of thier accomplishment but the parents and coaches should have enough integrity to know that a team with the record they had did not belong in the "B" world series. What is now going to prevent other teams throughout the nation from thinking that they can get away with it. Integrity is a huge part of this game and once it is lost what is left.

    good thread

this is gonna be a good discussion here. in my 10 or 11 years of nsa, it has always been a struggle to deal with the teams that Howard has let into "B" tournaments. the rules are plainly stated, cant play "B" if you have an NSA record of .500 or better. Now, I dont know what team you're talking about, and thats ok with me, but i've had some pm's about this, and i agree that a solid "A" team playing in a "B" tournament is like a highschool team playing a middle school team. what can be learned from that, and who's having fun?? I'm not shooting from the hip here, my dd has played on quite a few "B" teams who had a good chance to finish up top, only to lose to a team that shouldnt have been there to begin with. so, my question is: if your an "A" team and ya beat up on some "B" teams, do you really improve your abilities without better competition???:umno:

but i still like hearing about anyone's success, so keep posting them scores for those of us who cant make the games, and dont get me wrong, i'm not knocking anyone except nsa, sometimes their quest for cash overrules common sense, which explains all the other organizations popping up right now.

I agree. My daughter's team was put into the "A" state this year because they were 1 game above 500. They weren't a "A" team this year. Next year they probably will be. I love how all these teams went to Virginia as a "B" and played in the state as a "A" and are patting there self on the back for beating "B" teams. I think if you play your state tourney as a "A" you should go to the "A".

    Amen!

3 10U and 1 14U were the only teams from NC in Columbus at the "A" World Series.

The 10's did great and we made a respectable showing finishing in the top 10 (we lost 3 games by a total of 4 runs and the team that put us out (1-0) finished 2nd).

We were a first year 14U team and most of the teams there were 2nd year teams, but if you are capable and don't go you are doing an injustice to the girls and the organization.

We played (and saw) some very good teams and I for one am thankful for the experience!

If you want to be the best, you have to play the best. Look at the Cardinals, Blues, Challengers, etc... they play the best ALL THE TIME. Its not fun to me to beat up on not as talented teams. Its about the girls and I think they want to play the best, I know thats what our team wants. We don't always win, but its great playing teams better than you. Our team puts their heart and soul on the field against a team better them. I can't say that about them when we play a team we are suppose to beat. :twocents:

The reason that we didn't go to the NSA World was because we had a bad experience there !!! It rained the entire time we were there in 2004,and nothing to do, but sit in the hotel room for ten days.......BLAH !!!!:hammer: :hallo:
