I have been an avid follower of TBR and always enjoy the baseball knowledge passed through here. I am Brian Holt and the former baseball coach at West Forsyth from 1988-96 and King American Legion for six years. Went to the money in administration at West Forsyth and working closely with Catamount(he always need my baseball knowledge:gossip: I have one son Greg who is a sophmore at UNC-Chapel Hill and son Jonathan who is a junior at West. I have been around the greats like Tony Sutphin, Alan Ash, Bill Merrifield, Jason Mills and others and have been blessed by watching them work with all kids. Great coaches who produced great players and people. Keep up the great work TBR.

played a little football in hs but baseball has always been my first love... even though I didn't play past youth leagues. When my son, now at UNC-A, fell in love with the game it was like coming home again.
Though my playing days were well behind me I was able to "get back in the game" through coaching and studying the baseball guys that I met along my son's playing path. Guys like Chip Smith and Jeff Bock at Campbell, Mark Scalf, Randy Hood and Scott Jackson (now at UNC) at UNC-W, former UNC coach Mike Roberts, Carl Lancaster at Mt. Olive, Tommy Smith and Jason Roach, Jason being Grier's hitting and "life in baseball" instructor, Scouts like Paul Faulk, Terry Brewer and Billy Best, AAU coaches along the way and the coaches with the Dirtbags, especially AP.
The friends I've made are the best gift. Ya'll know who you are... even you inbred mountain people!

Jere, I lived in the same neighborhood with your Dad in high school, tell him hello!

My name is Kirk Sparks. I go by One Putt because when I was trying to come up with a name on the NCSU site everything I picked was taken. I tried One Putt and it was available. Obviously I didn't give it too much thought.

I have 2 boys, Walt (16, Ragsdale) and Duncan (14, Wesleyan Christian Academy). They both pitch and catch and one plays infield, the other plays outfield. They also both play football. Right now we are having a great time together. The best part of my day every day is being with them.

I re-started and ran a 2000 kid youth league with 6 different sports for 6 years. I volunteer a bunch anywhere it's needed, concessions, field work, or just buying equipment that is needed. I've watched all these kids (Ragsdale kids) grow up and I want the best for all of them.

This site has been great. I hate to admit that I get more here than I give. But it's a good site for information and opinions without trash talking or getting slammed. Sometimes I have to weed through stuff but I like varying opinions. This site is a good source when it comes to recruiting. While all recruiting can be confusing I don't think anything is tougher than baseball. The more I learn the more I realize how little I know.
