I'm around buddy, just watching this play out. one comment that i will make is that spring travel ball doesnt really conflict with most hs programs, the big tournaments usually dont start until memorial day weekend. i wouldnt stop a girl from playing a weekend tournament unless we were in contention for state run - lol. however, teams like km didnt allow it for this reason. when my dd was playing 14u, we started playing in march/april. we are off track with this thread, someone start another one and see if our track record holds. lol

Its not unreasonable for any HS team that is a serious playoff contender to ask that their players NOT participate in travel ball during the HS season. Players who participate in intense HS practices/games five days a week need two days of weekend rest to stay in top form.

An overworked athlete cannot perform at her peak and puts herself at increased risk of injury. To do HS all week and then TB all weekend is not in the best interest of the athlete or her school team.

Any decent TB coach will do whats right and encourage such a player to not break the HS team rule on this matter, keeping in mind that the HS season is only three months while the TB season after HS ends can be over five months.
