How's this conference stack up this year and who are the standout players to watch? Is anyone signed to play after H.S.?

Sounds like Riverside is loaded with seniors. Also hear East Chapel Hill had a lefty transfer in from CA. that was impressive at the Impact Showcase.

Any knowledgable Triangle people on board?:feedback:

Rob Gilliam, UNCG signee, is the transfer. I think East will be pretty good - they've got several other guys that are strong. (Full disclosure - my son played there a couple years ago so I am biased!) Chapel Hill graduated a lot of guys so will likely not be as strong as last year. Not sure about the other teams.

Coach Evans should be able to provide some good feedback on most of the teams

    Pac VI info

I will try and give a little perspective and try not to be biased at the same time form a fans standpoint.:woot:
The Pac Six has three new teams that have been added to the conference.
Those teams are Hillside, Southern Durham and East Chapel Hill. Based on past history of these three new additions East Chapel Hill will by far make the most noise in the conference as a new comer. They will be very competitive and may be in the running for the conference leader.
Riverside will be returning a veteran team and in my humble opinion should be the top runner for the conference. Seniors Matt Toffaletti (infielder/pitcher has committed to University of Pennsylvania) Senior Seth Moorman (excellent catcher and someone needs to take a serious look at him) Senior Justin Duncan (Pitcher/outfielder) will lead the Riverside pirates. They also have a excellent coach who always has them prepared. There question mark at this time will be how far there pitching staff can carry them. They will be very solid on defense and offense.
Chapel Hill lost some great players from last years Pac Six Conference champion but they still will be strong in my opinion. They still have enough of that team to be very competitive not to mention they have a great Coach in Coach Miller who is very respected in these parts!! He will have them ready.
Northern Durham and Jordan to me both will be big question marks. Jordan is well coached and will always be prepared but in my opinion is still in a building process. Northern Durham lost some players from last years team so they may be searching for pieces also. But I expect both to be competitive.
Now to my Person Rockets. I think Coach Evans hardest job this year will be trying to put the pieces back in place for the great seniors he had last year on defense and offense that lead the Rockets deep into the State playoffs. If they can get the right pieces in place on defense and offense the Rockets may have a great shot at the Conference title. The one thing in my opinion that Coach Evans and the Rockets have will be a great pitching staff. Senior Jerrod Moore (pitcher/middle infielder) last years team ace and Senior Robbie Byrd (pitcher/outstanding outfielder) last years big stick will be called on to lead the Rockets. Big things are expected from both of these Seniors who at this time have not committed but have had alot of contacts. Junior left handed pitcher Hunter Wrenn (you will hear this name alot next two years in my opinion) and Junior left handed pitcher Elliott Tolley will really add depth to the Rocket Pitching staff along with possibly Juniior righty Jeremy Peed. Just to keep in perspective the Rocket JV's have won the conference two out of the three past years so they will have some talent to replace what they lost.
Coach Evans I hope I did you proud!!!!:woohoo:
Anyone who would like to follow the Rockets and Pac-Six news can check out the Rocket Baseball team website. I try to keep it up to date with team news and Pac-Six news. Here is the link:

What you guys don't understand, is that I NEVER, NEVER would sandbag... I have the concerns all coaches have...

Good job PRD on the PAC-6 outlook. Some pretty good teams here... This is not in any order, BTW...

    1. Riverside - Doug Blowe has a very good group of seniors here in Seth Moorman (C), Matt Tofaletti (INF/P), and Jason Duncan. Add to that some good underclassmen and they should contend for the conference title.

    2. Chapel Hill - lost several seniors last year. LHP Tarron Robinson (son of UNC Asst Basketbell coach Steve Robinson) is an outstanding pitcher. David MIller will have these guys sound and ready to play.

    3. East Chapel HIll - I hear the transfer is very solid as a pitcher. If that's the case, he will compliment any line-up Phil Woodell very well.

    4. Northern Durham - Good hitting bunch, Denny Temple will have this team prepared to play. Cameron Falcon (INF) is a solid player.

    5. Devy Bell's Jordan Falcons should be much improved this year. Steele Meyers (INF/P) is an excellent player with good potential. This buch is always scrappy.

    6. Southern Durham will be improved. They have an excellent Shortstop (I cant remember his name right now, but I'll bet I remember him before we play them... Allen Goodwin has a solid bunch pf players, though they have not been as strong recently as they were back in the days when they met Glenn in the State Playoffs. (No JV team the past 2 years)

    7. Hillside - I don't know alot about them as they just hired a baseball coach. I heard they lost their 2 best players to Southern Durham., but am not sure of that, though.

    8. As for the Person Rockets, well we do have Moore and Byrd back... (they are mentioned above and I love them to death!!) THey and catcher Aaron Campbell are our only 3 returning starters. OUr young players are pretty good, and we should be pretty deep in pitching. Potentially, we could have as many as 3 Sophomores starting. Our whole outfield graduated, so I hope our staff can pull some rabbits out of the hat... We will have our work cut out for us, we have to work harder than everybody else !!

Should be a competitive and fun season.

Don't overlook Southern as they have a few transfers to bolster their pitching staff (Douglas Dalley/Harrison Meade) and INF Craig Farmer. TJ Wilson at SS is a stud.

Northern will be competitive as well with Chase Powell a solid ace and Brandon Cuthrell providing power in the middle of the order. Speed at the top with Sr. Jordan Parker and as you mentioned Cameron Falcon at SS is a very savvy and solid ball player.

Looking forward to the season. Best of luck to all.
