It is with great pride, that we recognize Patric King, 2011 On Deck O's/Piedmont High School, on his verbal commitment to the Charlotte 49ers. Patric was recently awarded the Levine Scholarship at UNC Charlotte for his commitment to community, academic excellence and peer leadership! Congratulations to Patric's parents, Valerie and Scott King, as well as his high coach, Milt Flow. Patric is a fine young man who strives to make everyone around him better by holding himself to a high standard of excellence spiritually, academically, socially and athletically.

Patric is possibly one of the best teammates I've ever had the pleasure of playing with. It didn't make a difference who you were or what your mistake was on the field. He was always the first one out of the dugout to pick you up, regardless. I've even seen this young man sprint from behind the plate halfway to center, right, and left field to make sure he's the first one to pick up a teammate regardless of whether he's doing it because he missed a routine fly ball or layed out into the fence and saved the game.

Bottom line: If Patric lost both arms and legs, god forbid, tomorrow, UNCC would still be getting someone who is going to make that team better.
