Just had to share a little bit about a former player!

Last night, Patrick Johnson, a 2007 graduate of St. Stephens High School, threw a complete game shutout against Virginia, the #1 team in the nation. He struck out 9 and only gave up 4 hits.

I was lucky enough to catch the last 5 innings on the internet and it was quite fun to watch.

On the year Patrick is 10-1 with a 2.84 ERA in 82 1/3 IP with 89 K vs only 26 walks. A pretty impressive season pitching on Friday nights in the ACC.

I know I speak for Coach Reese, Coach Watts and the rest of SSHS when I say how proud we all are of PJ for everything that he has done on the field but even more so for the great young man he is off of it!

    Congrats PJ!

A tremendous pitcher, Hultzen had a good night; but not quite good enough.

    :wink2:

P.J.'s performance on Thursday night was stellar.

Hultzen was very good, Emmanuel was very good as well! Saturday, more of the same, quality starting pitching. I think the story of this series was Virginia did not get the big hit with runners in scoring position and UNC did. Carolina is playing well going into the tournament and I think Virginia needed this. This is the first time Virginia lost a series all year long.
