PBC Tournament starts 5/8/13 - results here

The PBC, with four nationally ranked teams of the eight teams, starts May 8th in Greenwood, SC at Lander University's beautiful Dolny Stadium.

USC Aiken is ranked #1 in the country, followed by Armstrong Atlantic at #10, Lander comes in at #14 and UNC Pembroke at #16.



The top bracket has --

PBC 7th seed Georgia College vs #2 seeded Columbus State.

Seeded #5 is Francis Marion facing off against #3 seed Armstrong Atlantic.




The bottom bracket has -- A very tough opening bracket.

#4 seeded Lander vs #5 seed UNC Pembroke

#1 seed USC Aiken vs #8 seed Montevallo.

First game - first upset. GA College 8 Columbus State 5

#7 seed GA College scored fours runs in the last two innings to come from behind and beat #2 seed Columbus State. This was GA College's first tournament win since 2008.

Ga College plays the winner of today's next game between #6 seed Francis Marion vs. #3 seed Armstrong Atlantic.

Who saw this coming?

The #6 seeded Patriots pounded out 16 hits, helped by 4 Pirate errors to win going away over the #3 seeded Pirates.

Sr. Sandifer pitched a complete game.

Tomorrow in an elimination game at 10:00 a.m. #2 seed Columbus State plays #3 seed Armstrong Atlantic.

Francis Marion faces the #7 seed GA College at 1:30 tomorrow.

 

#4 Lander hammers #5 UNC Pembroke

Lander, aided by 17 walks issued by Braves pitchers (includes two hit batters) easily disposed of UNCP 12-3.

Next up for the Lander Bearcats is the winner of tonight's finale between nationally ranked #1 USC Aiken vs. #8 seed Montevallo. They will play at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The Braves face elimination as they will face the loser of tonight's USC Aiken/Montevallo at 5:00 tomorrow.

#8 seed Montevallo dropped nationally #1 ranked USC Aiken into the losers bracket!

Tomorrow USC Aiken faces UNC Pembroke in an elimination game at 5:00.

Nationally ranked #10 Armstrong Atlantic eliminated

The #10 ranked Pirates were sent home via a 7-1 loss the Cougars of Columbus State. The Cougars play next vs. the loser of the GA College/Francis Marion game being played next today.

 

GA College wins 5-0 to remain undefeated

#7 seed GA College defeated #6 seed Francis Marion 5-0.


The Patriots now move to the losers bracket to face the Cougars of Columbus State in an eliminate game tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.


GA College stays undefeated and faces the winner of the elimination game played today between UNC Pembroke and USC Aiken at 5:00 today.

 

UNCP Pratt CG dominates Aiken 14-3

UNCP eliminates the nationally ranked #1 Pacers with a convincing 14-3 win.
