Keep in mind also, that the SCPs have fielded a very strong team each of the 3 weeks so far. They played for the 18u championship the first week, and I think some of the same boys may be on the 16u team.

    Action Baseball 6

    WP: Billy Bernhard (AB) 7 IP, 7 H, 4 K
    LP: Ryan Glover (CAA) 5 IP, 10 H, 3 K

Reese Wells (CAA) 2-3, (2) 2B; Tyler Coyle (CAA) 1-3; Turner Simpson (CAA) 2-2

The Angels finally ran out of gas and that, combined with all the injuries, we are done. We had 7 hits compared to their 10 but none timely enough to get a run across.

    Thanks For Asking!

Seth pitched a great game against the Young Guns from West Florida. The entire team has done an awesome job this week. We lost 3 key players, one with a broken foot, one dropped off the team and another hasn't shown up in a while so I don't know about him. All were pitchers so we came down with only 12 players. One has a pulled hamstrip, another a bad arm, one fell at the POOL! and hurt his ankle and lastly a potential broken thumb from a slide and tag. So winning anything was unexpected.

We have the Elon Showcase left and a few individual showcases and camps and we will start over in the fall if the team decides to do that. I will be looking for a "few good men" and a coach or two. If you know anybody looking, send em on.

We are a team oriented bunch wishing for no franchise players. We expect good grades and the desire to be with good people while playing top level baseball. No, we aren't the big budget team that some are but we work hard at being ourselves and not eveybody else. I suppose I have always liked the social aspects of my teams as much as the games.

So to answer your question, Seth has played fine but I rarely single out players. They are all good or they wouldn't be here and I feel fortunate to be able to get back into coaching. I have had 2 of the boys since they were 8 years old and another mostly since nine. I have coached a couple who have become stars on other teams and I am very proud of them. Thanks for being a fan!

I've known Seth since he was like four. Him and my brother are the same age and we lived right down the street from each other.

knowing what you are about. It is great to see that the player needs to be more than someone who can, pitch, hit and run. Knowing your past success with players, it is easy to see how many of the players you coached in the early years have success now with others. I have met many of these young men. Also, heads up win or loss and polite off the field. It is great to see. All the best at Elon.:wings:

I'm sure we will get the details later, but two impressive wins against two powerful teams, today, place the South Charlotte Panthers in the final 4.:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
