Commenting on every ball or strike

Thankfully doesn't happen that often, but a parent/fan who makes a comment about every ball or strike, especially loud enough for the Ump to hear.

I understand the occassional grumbling on a bad call, sometimes I think it helps the Ump to realize he may be too tight or loose on his strike zone. But those who comment on every pitch ruin the game, and usually results in the Ump loosing his consistency, as it gives him false feedback.

Plus I don't like lestening to it !!!

An ump listening to/being influenced by a fan should be sitting in the stands beside the fan.

My pet peeve is coaches calling every pitch. Instead of calling every single pitch, why not teach your catcher to call a game? Sure, there are times when you are going to want to make sure a certain pitch is called in a certain situation and that's fine. But nobody knows how a pitcher is pitching better than the kid catching. He knows if the curve or change is fooling the hitters that night or if they are having trouble seeing or catching up to the fastball.

I don't watch a lot of college baseball, do the coaches call all the pitches in college? If not, then this is more of a reason to let the catcher learn how to call a game.

Unfortunately, they do up there as well. It's rather funny, though. I have seen where the coach gets upset with his pitching to the point he is frustrated and yells to the catcher, "you call the game". From that point on, the pitcher throws a shutout. By the next game, he resumes calling pitches and the pitchers are struggling......Amazin' ain't it!

Coahes calling pitches, not hustling off the field. No concessions or Braves as he put it in another thread "give us the VIP treatment with our own private section to watch the game. I was disappointed we didn't have waittresses, but who am I to complain." And him parking that golf cart in the way.

Don't be jealous...those PSL seatings are expensive, so golf carts should be a given---although ours was a "gator":waving:

The 3-0, anything close, automatic strike. I hate it when umpires change their strike zone on 3-0. How many times have we seen the middle of the plate, across the letters strike called on 3-0 but never again the rest of the game?

I don't mind coaches calling pitches so much as coaches that don't listen to the catcher when he notices something. Plus, coaches have trends and patterns.

Pet Peeves. Oh I got em alright.

2-0 pitch. Goodness!!! Hitter takes pitch. Eiither the coach calls it(take) or the hitter takes it on his/her own. Pitcher does their job. Gives up the meatball. OMG. What did you just do!!!??? Nothing.

Now your in 2-1 count. Yet another "hitters count" IMO. Hitter and or coach has "get to swinigng" on their mind. Hitter chases something and there you are in even count with pitcher. (%$%#&%#%#!!)

Pitcher just smiles cause they got you. They got you back even.

Now your in a 2 strike count. Forget those 2 balls they threw you. They are history. You and or your coach just put you in crap land.

YOU are in a defensive hitting situation. Got to protect that plate. Pitcher owns the zone and you don't. He/she dictates.

3-1 count is another. 3-1 and this is still a hitters count. YET hitter "no dances" with the pitcher and he/she has you back in a 2 strike count(^&^*^%%*^*^%).

From hitters counts to getting into a 2 strike count just kills me.

Of course there are those 2 strike count "looky loos" where the hitter just looks at something go by and gets rung up. Stands there in the box, drops bat to ground, looks to the sky mouth ajar. Then has the audacity to look back at the Ump and question the call. (#$%#^^#)
