In the just released College Baseball Division II rankings, the Pfeiffer Falcons have moved from 22nd to 15th on the list. I think it speaks well of what local talent can do for a local team. If you check the roster, it is loaded with "Metrolina" players. Lots of Mecklenburg and Cabarrus county talent on a very deep team.

17 games into the season, and they're about halfway to breaking the single season homerun record. If someone else can verify that, I was told by someone they had 43 and the ncaa record is 87. Is that correct?

According to the website, as of the game on Wednesday, they have 44.
According to the NCAA Division II record book online, the record is held by West Georgia with 131 in 60 games.
