Phillip & Jacob Watcher commit to The Citadel

    On Thursday night, Sumter middle infielders/RHP 2014's Phillip & Jacob Watcher made a commitment to play baseball for The Citadel.

    These young men are listed by Perfect Game as 5'6" and 5'7" and 130 and 135 lbs....but they play big, run 7.1 60's, throw 83 mph, and are excellent students according to PG. I've seen them throw 84-86 last summer in the legion SE Regional, after they started as freshmen on a 4A state championship team. Walking off the field to standing ovations at the SE Regional after each threw 3 shutout innings they showed jaw-dropping talent on the mound. I forget which one hit HR's in the 4A Championship series, but I bet one doesn't let the other forget.

    Players... don't let anyone ever tell you are too small.
