As we continue to wait for the rain to stop falling long enough so the final two contests of the SW4A regular season can be played, I thought I would crunch a few numbers looking for some clues leading to the results of the SW4A standings. What a shock, if you pitch and play defense you win!

EM v. Providence

Great game at Ed Bryant's Field of Dreams. Unbelievably the field held up through the torrential rains of the past three days and the storms held off long enough to get the game in. Unofficial score:

Providence senior, Jordan Fuller kept the Eagles off balance for 6 innings and then Askey came in to finish things off. The Eagles had a lead off double in the bottom of the 7th, but couldn't push the winning run across the plate. Sophomore, Lou Trosch pitched the first 6 for the Eagles and kept the Panthers off the board, yielding only 4 hits thru 6 innings. Olen Little came in and finished for East Meck. The Panthers finally exploded in the top of the 8th for 3 hits and 2 runs. All in all a great game to end the season. Man, the SW4A is a tough conference (no rest for the weary, ever in this conference). I really hope they get the conference tourney in.

 

SW4A Tourney postponded. South Meck at Myers Park scheduled for tomorrow.

Tournament will start on Friday if all games are completed.

 

Butler vs Independence tomorrow as well?
